Quick CVH bearing size question.. Help appreciated
Hi guys,
just a quicky, my CVH Turbo had 0.4 O/S Main Bearings from new ,.. Im looking at getting a Steel Crank for it and was wondering if it would be easier to source a Standard size block to start with as ive heard Ford put the oversize bearings in too compensate for crappy line boring from new?
I did see a thread on here some time ago with a similar theme but cant find it anymore.
Sorry to ask the same again!
Cheers , Pete

Hello mate post this in the RS turbo section not the project section and you will get a few reply's.
For now i think burtons stock the weird sizes ford used to make up for shoddy blocks???? but if you want a steel crank i assume you have loads of money to waste and want good power.... so you will be going efi as well?
If thats true you may as well source a fiesta efi block with the cps hole and sort two problems in one.
Good luck

Hi mate - I posted a while back about the same thing in my resto thread for my xr3i - dunno if that was the one you saw.., mine too had 0.4 o/s mains and rust me they are almost impossible to find ! as I wanted to keep my engine standard. You are correct that they put these in to compensate for overboring ... let me know if you find anyone who has em !!
