Default fiesta mk2 zetec turbo project (engine now in )

hi i just signed up to your great forum

im ben 25 from basildon essex

just picked the fiesta up off ebay
it started life as a popular 1.0
tho over the last year has had some small mods done

xr2 engine and gearbox
coilovers
xr2 exhaust
clear rear lights

tho needs a lot of welding doing what is fine as i was working in a ford brakers be for fixing and brakeing cars so im going to be doing all the work

turbo technics kit (got everything apart from carb booster cap thing
xr2 seats
front mount intercooler
escort rs turbo s2 botton pistons and crank

thanks well i wanted to start a new project and i have all ways loved the mk2's it come up cheap needs a lot of tlc but looking to do it over the next 3 months to i put it on the road

yep keeping it red as every panel is neary mint apart from the bonnet

nope i got some thing planed so i dont have to cut anything if i go with it that way

was going to fit a bonnet vent and mount it like a top mounted intarcooler

just been talking to a friend who is brakeing a full rs turbo s1 and doing a deal with him for everything in the engine bay for my tt kit and some cash to him

will have photos later on in the week when i start on welding got my new seats off my step dad from a gto twin turbo as he is just fitting bucket seats in it so got he's old seats what i love

thanks mate i cant beleave how cheap it come up in the end
yep think someone has had ago at painting the rocker cover at some point and not used the right paint as there is bits burnet off

will have lots of photos on tuesday as buying a new camera

had a good think last night im going to keep my tt kit and get some s2 turbo pistons as i want to run about 1.3 boost

the xr2 engine has done 61k and the car has done 88k
getting a cam belt kit today as ordering my samco water hose's

after having a good think about things and now not going cvh turbo im just going to zetec turbo it im going the full way tho so front wings off to look for any rot about and didnt take long to find some

hopeing to have a 2.0 blacktop zetec engine bolted in sometime next weekend if all go's well

i got to say the rot is not as bad as i fort it would be

now has been cut away and plated

fitted new wishbones as one was bent ,track rod ends , balljoints
fitted a set of bilstein shocks and springs all round as one of the coilovers was belt same side as the wishbone was belt

picked up some more tools as well

sealey supermig 170 welder and a 150lt clarke air compressor

what are you planning to do to clear the wheels on the back?
the will need spacers to clear the inner arches on the rear, then they will stick out
15' wheels is the minimum to clear the cossy brakes.

i have fort of this im useing 20mm spacers and im putting golf mk2 archs on

yep i know i need 15"s thats why im picking up the puma wheels mate

im useing a silvertop 2.0 mondeo engine rebored to a 86mm to make it the 2.1
will be useing pec rods and 86mm wossner forged pistons have not fort about what cam's yet tho
then i will see the comp ratio down to about 8.0.1
im useing a escort rs turbo manofold with adapter plate with t3 stage 2 turbo with the rover turbo inlet with the adapter plate again
i have a omex 200 ecu for my engine management

got my engine mounted moded for the silvertop just waiting on block to come back from being rebored and then its off to powder coating

got my new wheels on today
they are ford puma 15inch wheels with 195/50/15's
no rubing or anything on the rear for the front i sat the old wing in place and me and my step dad was standing on the front panel just to see how far it would go down as there is no engine fitted atm
still had over a inch and a half gap
fitted my gearbox onto the cradle
fitted my rear lights tho will not be keeping them as one has a bit broke off

looks good
you may need to roller the arches i think, not to keen on the wheels, i think some cossy sharktooths would have looked better but each to their own
cars coming along nicely tho, i bet it will be quick with the zetec turbo in it

i fort i may have had to roll them as well but tryed putting 2 gearboxs in the boot and a 1600cvh bottom end and still was not rubbing or hitting the archs

will soon see as zetec will be in next weekend

tbh mate i only picked the wheels up as they was cheap and being 15"s i can fit my cosworth front brakes

yep all dome im hoping for 320 to 340bhp

dont know may get the wheels powedrcoated white not 100% yet

nope not gone to any of the passion ford meets apart from southend
im not driving a ford atm having to put up with a 306gti
