Default Capri mk1 2800 XR4 on carb

Hi all,I am from Bosnia and I will try to be short couse my English
I bought some peace of junk and tow it at my place

After few years of learning how to weld, prepair for paint, paint etc it look's like this

Originaly it was 1.7 V4 but it was at end of his life and I bought an XR4i engine with K-Jetronic from Sierra.

K-Jetronic is shit so I puted an Weber carb 36/36,yes I know it is too small but I have an Solex EEIT 40/42 and I plan to put that in future...

Everything is preaty ok BUT there is a problem...
Engine at high RPM like 4k (it can't go higher couse of a small carb )
smokes like hell.It is a white thick smoke and at exhaust manifold leak,I think it is a water and oil, black mixture.

I bought a parts from you,England ,at e-Bay but I need a help to put that all together or some kind of advice or something...

Every comment, pictures or some ideas are useful...
Thx from Banjaluka, Bosnia & Herzegovina

You have done a great job!
The high idle is charateristic of an air leak. Maybe manifold to head gasket or maybe manifold to carburettor gasket. Another thing to check is leaks from the pipe that connects manifold to brake servo (if you have a servo fitted).

Hope you get sorted - keep going !

thx man but I don't have problem with high idle
The maine problem is water leak into cilinders and I suspected on head gasket but it is ok.
Now I think it is manifold to head gasket...
We will see what was the problem after rebuilt.
Thx again for your help
