Get some fishing line and run it behind the trim in a sawing action to cut through the glue. Then use some thinners or something to get rid of the residue. Thing is though the red will have faded quite a bit and it will be fresh paint underneath the strip so might need some work to get the rest of the paintwork to match!
I personally wouldn't do it though, they are there for a reason. I did it on an old car, and within a few months there was car park dents along the doors from inconsiderate cunts opening their doors into it.

I had a mk4 which i modified slightly until MOT time!i removed the stupid side stripes with a flat headed screw driver and brute force to pull them off. Not the best way left few scratches! However the best way to do it is to use a heat gun to warm the plastic off as this then softens the stupid sticky stuff behind the strip. To remove the left over sticky s**t use something that wont scratch the paint pref a platic tool. this should do it mate.
