Default how to fit a xflow

can anyone advise please, this is our first project, just aquired a 100e with capri crossmember legs and rack, and have fitted a 105e rear axle. Now fitting a 1600 xflow from a mk1 escort, with type9 gearbox, the question we have is should we use all the esort front suspension or leave the capri in and how to possition the engine correctly, someone said the centre of the lower pulley should be central to the chassis someone else said engine mounts must be equal distance, Please help we want to get this right, thanx
