decided to remove the tank tonight,i wouldn't be happy leaving it the way it is.
I bought a couple of -6 fittings and cut the damaged one off.
also cut off the section of the tank that needs bent up.
ill try and get the fitting brazed on at the weekend, also spoke to gaz and hes happy to repaint the tank once im happy with it,really seems to be one step forward and two back at the moment.
heres some pics:
how hes damaged it I don't know, you can see the difference here.
new one:
old one:
I had fittings brazed onto my tank much better!
But my tank to pump fitting is -10 ( if I remember right was a while ago now lol ) same size pipe as original
Yeah all Teflon on mine but mine is a bit here there and every wear lol as mine go's tank to pump to filter then into the boot to a swirl pot and off to another pump to feed the rail plus the rail is twin return to a different type on reg -8 feed and -6 return as I'm going 650bhp.
Yours looks more standard lay out and a top notch job you have done on it as well mate
I'm keeping the standard steel lines under the car and teflon from the ends, ill probably have to go swirl pot at some point as the tank is aftermarket.
My car was 500bhp for almost 4 years on the standard tank then I got an aftermarket one with a metal swirl pot in it. Modded my hole fuel system for more power every thing aero quipped. First time I drove it with the new tank it surged like fuck I was not happy so had to fit a swirl pot and second pump
tonights work:got the tank back from gaz,s on Friday and fitted it up tonight along with the fuel pump cradle, made up a couple of hoses aswell, heres a couple of pics.
don't want to sound like a broken record but still no tanks from spec r
cheers jay, spoke to pete Friday he was in the machine shop sorting out the boss for the header tank, ill be calling again this week to see how hes getting on.
done a little on the car today, made up the return fuel line.
still need a couple of fittings and clips to secure the hose but will have them next week.
only the hose to the fuel rail to do now them that's the fuel lines complete.
Pete contact him through ebay to make sure he has what you need, he would be happy to take cash on collection, or I have his mobile number if you prefer.
spent a little time on the car this weekend, fuel system all done now.
as you can see in the next pic ive added and couple of extra wires(thanks for the loom mike)so I can run it to a volt gauge in the dash to keep an eye on the voltage at the pump.
also got the rocker cover gasket fitted.
also decided to re-do the majority of the brake lines in steel just got to order it up from ford, hopefully new engine loom will be in soon aswell, ordered up some powerflex exhaust mounts, they should be here in a couple of days.
cheers mate, only got a hose to do for the power steering and one for the breather but that will probably be after Christmas if pete doesn't hurry up,and that's the last of the braided hoses.
