moonstone 3dr small update
#883
just a little update:
got the yellow paint done on the AP'S.
also got the front splash shields done(im still looking for a rear n/s one if anyone knows of one)
and the caliper brackets:
put the comps on as I was fed up of pumping up the old 3dr rims:
mike came round last week and wire in the harness he made for me:
fitted the turbo damper today:
that's about it for now,ill update again once my tanks turn up from spec r but don't hold your breath.

spent a couple of hours on the car today got the last of the tanks on and made up the braided hose, really pleased with the result, the tanks fit great.
also managed to source a good n/s dirt shield, these are hard to find now.
cleaned up and fitted.
one thing I had to check today(after mike mentioned it)is if my 4x4 brakes were going to fit with the 2wd backing plates that I had made,as you can see from the pic they work great.

Adam them bolts are from the abs unit,as you can see I've took the bolts out and the fittings that go in the underside and had them zinc'd, I wouldn't go stripping it down if you can help it.
I opened one up a while back and damaged it so had to source another.

spent a few hours on the car today,i had bought an alloy drop bracket for the alternator.
while I was under the car I wasn't happy with the fit of the top feed cooler, one side hit the bumper and no amout of adjusting cured the problem.
so had to get the grinder out.
after a bit of a fiddle everythings sorted.
very little room down there now.
next job,big brakes for the rear when my tax return shows up.

really that far forward?
how can they advertise it as(no cutting or drilling required)
I cut and drilled till I was happy that it was secure.
ideally if the mounting holes where angled front to rear like the rad maybe I could have got a little more room between the fans and pulley.

spent a couple of hours on the car today heres some pics.
got all the abs sensors cleaned up and plugged in:
looks a bit cleaner under there compared to when I bought it.
due to fitting the top feed cooler the cooler/throttle body hose didn't quite fit right so got onto roose to order another,i said just send out the exact same hose as you sent out the last time, this is what turned up
bottom hose is the new one,as you can see the dump valve take off is in a different place,so now I have to make up a new vaccum hose.
had to trim the hose till I was happy with the fit,new stainless jubilee clips all round.so im pretty much back to where I was before fitting the cooler just waiting for my 300mm rear brake conversion from martin so I can get some brake fluid in and try and get it started

Beautiful job Jeff! A credit to your dedication.
A few pages back there is a picture of the exhaust side of the engine and I noticed a knock sensor. Do you know where I can buy these or was it already on there?
