Cheers,be happy when its painted can start putting all the new bits on then.
Engine spec is(at the mo!) T4,bd10/14.double valve springs, low comp,RS500 inlet,83lbs injectors,044 pump, genuine 500 cooler,909 air-air,and a few other bits.Going up to enhanced performance for one of their inlet cams and a re map when its back on the road so hopeing for around 420hp.Plenty for now,got a 500hp build on the go too!

cheers

Drove fine considering the map i had.Had a map for standard engine with greens and 3 bar! Just to give me a bit of go until its mapped.was more laggy than a t34 but would have been much better with a re map and set up.Still awesome when it came on boost though even with just 16psi.

Havnt updated thus for a long time so thought I better had! Progress has been slow with the car due to work but iv been collecting parts still and now given up with doing the bodywork myself and handed the car to a bodyshop!
Here's how it looked before I stripped it:

The spec keeps changing all the time! But got everything to finish it now so all systems go when I get it back.
This is it at the mo

Back to virtually bare shell but coming along nicely looking forward to having it back.

Hi lee, glad too see its coming on well.
You've convinced me now looking at yours that leaving the door rubstrips off was a good idea, yours looks mint.
I've not done anything to mine for ages, ummed and ahhed whether to break etc but I don't think I could forgive myself having come this far to just give up plus I know if I go back to it in the future it's gonna cost me even more money to get another probably in worse condition.
I bought mine back in 2006 as well for an Astra gsi with no ticket and £2200 so owing me £3000 or so at the time.
Amazing to think that was for a taxed and tested car with fsh, rebuilt motor etc, would cost about £6000 now!!!!

Hi vaughnt, hows it going? Yeah I'm sticking to it know how u feel about feeling like giving up but iv come too far and I'l only ever want another! It's an addiction! You had a bargain there with yours and it's worth saving rare colour too. I'm un decided about the door strips iv got them too go back on but going to leave them off for a bit first. Didn't u buy that Flint grey shell yap?

Hi fella,car looks spot on!!!
No never bought yap,the turbo went on my ml and took an age and cost loads to fix what with MOT stuff etc,I wasn't 100% convinced on its condition either,I saw a few pics of it stripped down afterwards and there were a few rough bits not mentioned at any point but it wasn't bad value what with the carbon roof etc, don't know if he ever sold it on,he wouldnt return the £200 I gave him for the parts either which I thought was poor,no explanation why but i think he saw it as a deposit only, each to their own, some would say I'm right some would say I'm wrong, shit happens.
After a good look at my own shell it's only needing a few bits to make good,I just panicked about the roof but in all honesty I'd say it's got no worse over the last year of being stored outside in all weathers so I'll sort it in the future and live with it for now,I might even carbon roof it myself or get a good second hand one but thats in the future.
I'm hopefully gonna get work offshore in the next few months, just done my survival etc which will give me a lot more free time to sort it,I've got most of the bits now, engines good, drivetrains good, got a mint interior etc so it seems silly to give up now.

Vaughnt, good stuff keep at it, will be worth it in the end looked a good car when I saw it. Shame about the problems u had with yap and losing the deposit that's not good! Time is my problem also but iv got some motorvation at last now it's painted!

Thanks. Yeah door mouldings were going to go on today but run out of time! Got new genuine badges to go on too, only part I'm not happy with is that the front bumper sags slightly where it meets the grill trim but I have a spare bumper that will get painted at a later date!
