My 2wd flint saff restoration.Fast ford cover car this month.
Purchased my 2wd saff cossie in my favourite colour in feb 2006 for the bargain price of £2300.Needed a bit of tidying up but was a nice useable fairly standard car.Been wanting a cosworth since i was a kid and owning one at last was as good as id always expected. rebuilt the engine in august 2008 with a bit more power.Due to being out of work for a few months took it off the road in march 2009 for a light restoration which has now turned into a full restoration! Its cost me £1000's so far but its a keeper and il never get rid or break it so doing it once and hopefully it will last for years!
Some pics before i took it off the road.

First job was remove the rear beam to do an underside resto.Heres the dirty, rusty, oily mess of a rear beam when removed!
Found a bit of grot in the o/s rear chassis leg.
Which after a bit of grinding and cutting resulted in this.
after approx 100 hours of grinding, welding and cleaning the rear end finally got it stonechipped ready for paint and cut out and fitted new section into drivers side lower arch.
getting there at last! have now used 1 litre of celly 1 pack spray painting it and a litre of laquer so far, more updated pics to follow when the weather dries up!

Ive said it before and ill say it again, absolutly love flint grey! I reckon with that much power you should think about putting a modded rear beam and diff in as its all up in the air. Thats what Im going to do when Ive finished my engine.

Love it, you leaving the tinted lenses on or going back to ambers??
in the first pic it sits great, how much has it been lowered by??
Mine is still at standard height but sits too high at the back
Keep us posted

Iv got all new genuine ambers for the rear and front im going back to original as i prefer it.Got a mountain of new parts for it il take some pictures. I did consider going back to completely standard with the wheels aswell, but due to the power increase need bigger wheels for the brakes.
