mk2 escort - st170 engine advice
got my engine in just need help with a few things -
what voltage goes into the cam solenoid - 5v or 12v?
what fanbelt shall i use - im not running an alternator just want to run the waterpump (obviously) so what fanbelt and idler/tensioner pulley?
do i need to slot my inlet manifold down if so how much and how - its a twin 40/45 alloy manifold.
also - i will be using a megajolt system i have bought of ebay - do i need a throttle position sensor or not? was told not if i have only got std. cams as i can download a base map?

got to www.turbosport.co.uk there is a load of people that have done this conversion and there will be plenty of help there ...cheers gaz

hi thanks for that - i have already read most of them and it cleared up a few probs -
i have just recived my megajolt this afternoon and it is just a load or wire and some connectors! - i have read thats its easiest to use the fiesta esc wiring and use this but how do you connect this to the megajolt ecu?
also do i have to slot the inlet manifold down?

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
ya will have to slot inlet manifold ports are about 5mm higher. as far as i remember solnoid is 12v i just removed pulley and fitted venieer pullys. ya could buy retro ford belt pulley i ust used ford one and mounted it in old power steering pump position. i used weber alfa ignition which needed tps

thanks for that caprizetec1970 - i think ive sorted the fanbelt today - using a nissan sunny alternator belt. any other help with the megajolt would be greatley appreciated as i really havent got a clue!
