Default fiesta rs turbo no4

well ive finally sucummbed to to devil in my ear and gone and brought yet another money pit. i was initially going to buy this when i saw it advertised on ft.com late last year but when i got the money the car was gone. then, last week i saw it rear its head yet again on ebay this time, well i was already decided that i wanted it so made the call, then made the trip to kent to go and do the deal. it was dark when i finally got there so had a quick look and a little test drive. the second i drove it i knew i was going to have my wallet raped.
there was a horrible vibrating from the floorpan, also i noticed that the temp gauge was innop.fuck.

anyway it was late and we had driven all the way there so i did the deal and then went to go and find a travel lodge. once in the room i had a look through the paperwork id be given, ive never seen so much history for a car in my life, almost every reciept for every little part its ever had. bonus.

next day the long journey home began. this highlighted a few problems, mainly the horrible vibartions, the lack of any engine temp. the non existant boost, the collapesed seat etc etc etc.

she made it home nethertheless and today i had my first proper look around the car. what i found was
: missing air filter
: lashed up boost hoses
: exhaust resting on bottom subframe
: osf wheel bearing noisy
: pulls to left under breaking
: split boost hose
: fucked drivers seat
: dirty shitty interior
: various rust issues

the list goes on

so anyway today i gave it a little clean, i then set about fitting an old air filter as a temp measure, changed the split boost hose and then ordered some new parts including

wipers
thermostat
temp sender
wheel bearing

tomorrow my good mate saq will be assisting me in completely gutting the non working alarm and fitting my clifford g5, replacing some of the engine bay wiring and re-connecting the temp sender and wiring for fan etc.

heres a couple of pics as it stands

current spec is spax srpings, magnex exhaust with rolled out tip cut off (fucking twats) t3 turbo, some samco hoses, beige injectors, powerchip, pace intercooler. have got a previous printout of 191 bhp so am hoping for close to that when its all back as it should be.

il update as and when but should be fairly regular as im not working at the mo so have lots of time on my hands

c&c welcome

well i had quite a good day on it today inbetween helping (read doing) my mrs service her astra. i still need to sort out the wiring for the fan switch. managed to strip out the seats and centre console etc. also as i ad a bit of free time i tried to go a bit bufty on the thermostat housing. i think with some more time it could look quite good.

i also took a couple of pics of the history the car came with just to show exactly what she came with

my makeshift garage lol

the shitehole of an engine bay, notice various colour hoses etc

thermostat out

like i say, didnt get too much time on it due to helping elsewhere but im hoping tomorrow that i can get a full day on it. its recently had some cossie plugs and new leads so im just gonna give it an oil flush and see what we have. needs to go on a rolling road aswell.

once i have all the mech work i want done, im planning on getting it into my mates bodyshop for a full resto and paint but thats a fair old way off yet

Used to own this car, looks a mess know hope you get it sorted. The guy that bought it of me seems to have ruined it. He was young chav so it was to be expected.

Hope you sort it out was a good car when I owned it.

Feel free to ask about the car as you can see in the receipts me and previous owners spent alot on the car.

tbh i was going to grab your number off the ft advert and find out how you sold it lol. the matey told me he had owned it a year even after i told him i wanted to buy it in november lol, dickhead.

to be fair the one receipt i have from him is from burtons for a couple of lower arms, the plugs and leads so at least no cheap crap although he has had the exhaust welded so it now rubs on the subframe. the switch next to the steering column doesnt actually do anything, the fan does not work at all unless i connect a random green wire to the battery positive, the alarm does not work, i only have 2 keys and i see you sold it with 3. the list goes on.

not a good start, wish i got it when you were selling lol.

well i had quite a productive day yesterday, i managed to pretty much gut the interior bar the back seats and dashboard. the back is quite clean bar some rust on the os strut tower. the floors have seen a welder previously and tbh could prob do with another encounter in the near future. im also happy now that i have removed the alarm that was fitted and no longer working, and the car still starts.

I now have the extremely tedious task of working out what wires go to where on the clifford i have so going to be a laborious task of labeling up each wire to work with.

will get some progress pics up soon
