Default Escort Bonus Re-rebuild

I thought it was about time I started one of these threads!

Basically, since being with my missus for the last few years and finally finishing the house, I decided that was'nt enough grief! So now I've decided to go and get married!! - Now, the only way she would ever let me get another RS is if I said I wanted one for a wedding car!! Obviously I was then!

The plot thickens.....So, instead of buying some old rust bucket, I thought I would build one from scratch!! I got my self a white donor vehicle and stripped the shit out of it!
It was one of the worst rotters I'd ever seen......

Just by pure chance I came across this mint and I mean mint black shell. 1 owner, 30k miles and fully waxoyled from new! I could'nt believe how tidy this thing is! Never been welded. Dont know which route to go engine wise, but I'm just going to bang the standard RS engine to use it for the wedding.

cool choice of wedding car would look nice as standard and gleaming black s2... you must have an understanding wife or be marrying a ford nut

Bit of an update......

Finished putting my mish mash of engine together....Well, the head and block anyway. Manifolds are just rested on for a mock up.

Fiesta EFI block with 0.5 oversized pistons
Mfi head with a bit of mild porting
XR3i inlet so I can reroute the pipe work away from the engine.

Need to try and source a EFI adaptor/sandwich plate to fit the MFI head.....Anyone know where to get one? I'm going to be running on cossie management as I have most of the bit already.

Just waiting on an engine mount so I can plonk it in.

Sorry for the delay in updates chaps! I'm on a dongle thing so it takes forever to upload pics....

The car went for its MOT this morning! PASSED!! Only advisory I got was the handbrake cable.

I'm declaring it 99% finished as I just need to fit the bodykit and get a setup........

A mate took a couple of piccys for me.........

Any feedback/suggestions appreciated..........(I have got a set of genuine spotlights??)

Cheers Boothy. I knew the sticker was on the other side, just trying to be different. The boot needs a better paint job IMO anyway so it's coming off regardless.

Gav! Can't believe you have scrapped it! I'm seriously thinking of getting a 3DR now, but have just bought another house project, so it will have to sit in the garage for a year or so!

Boothy, just for you. (Please bear in mind she is 6 months pregnant too...)

yeah we started stripping it to get it resprayed and the more we took off the worse are nightmare got we were told by our mate who swapped it with my brother that it had only ever had 2 bits of welding done on the whole car, well its more like 52 the floor is a patchwork quilt, the passenger side rear quater was full of filler, battery tray and fuse box area had gone the roof was starting to go only just though and all the sills were just odd patches so we just give up and we are breaking what we can from it. luckily it never cost my bother anythibg and i made back what i payed for it buying selling parts.

id love a 3dr but i had to feed my addiction of wanting another rs turbo

Could anyone give me a rough price guide as to what they think my car is worth? I have the chance to buy a Series 1 but need to source the funds first...

Bought this back yesterday.

Going to build it up to 2.0 Zetec on R1 bike carbs.

Will load pics later as they are on my phone, but it's great to have her back! (Thanks Mikey Clough)
