2003 mk1.5 Focus 1.8 TDCi
So, it's time for my daily drive to have stuff done...
2003 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi
now with 255.000kms on the clock.
When bought,
first and only thing I've change
was Eibach Pro-kit springs and smoked blinkers...
...and I rolled like that for years, until now.
I was looking around for suspension upgrades... Bilstein B8 was the choice, but then I started getting restless to tune it "German Style" or "euro" like some call it now. So started to look into budget coilovers like VMAXX, but then seen a KW promotion and bought V1s...
Then was time to go find some everyday wheels... a user from a Ford forum here in Portugal was selling a beautiful set of old style Compomotive MO in 8j x 18" ET50...
Click here to see picture of his car with them fitted on 215/35 rubber all round.
I was a bit puzzled with the 50 offset
and worried that it would catch the coilover springs,
so I test-fitted them...
...maybe 3mm clearance to coilover tube, and very good for springs.
So I got clearance to lower it much more.
I'm planning on running 215/35 rubber like previous owner did.
But the euro surge didnt settle, so I risk in fitting this DZ Exklusiv...
Test-fitted to see how much work is needed to get it proper...
8,5j ET30:
10j ET30:
...before I bought this wheels, some dude hit the right rear arch with is car, since I will be needing work on the arch, will fix it to work with the 10j on both sides.
Then was time to fit the 225/40ZR18 Dunlop Sportmaxx
that my bro' got for me...
...and on the car...
...waiting on the 215/35 for the front 8,5j.
Sorry about the unclean car all the time, but its very bad weather here now.
Front tires arrived finally, Compotive MO then...
215/35...
225/40...
DZ1s then...
I need the 225/40 in the rear for the 10j DZ1s, got them on the MOs to test and approve the size on Portuguese version of MOT, since stretch and poke surely would not pass. Witch it did on the MOs...
Back on the DZ1s, work needed on rear...
Those are "cm"... ( 1 inch = 2,54 cm )
A better pic...
Thats all for now... more after the steel been rolled.

Still in the hammering stage...
New MO position...
( will use 25mm H&R spacer to set it right until I sell them and buy other with new width and offset for the new arches )
The inner section cut to work on the panel...
...and closed:

The poke in that first pictures was not drivable, so needed work... not as cool, but usable now.
The work did NOT involved extensions... was hammered until the steel got like that!

So, the current Compomotive sale is takin more time that I would like
so, it's Trak+ time...
H&R Trak+ 50mm ( 25mm in each side ):
Before...
The sapcer...
After...
And how it rolls now...
Lets see if these Comp go... so I can get some in 8j + 9j for my everyday utility set.

No, I did not, sadly...
because if I did, meant I had skills for much more!
marky_g
I use it daily like that now...
but I guess I'm not going through bad roads
to set me out of it.
