Escort GTI>Rs200 conversion problems
Guys the rs2000 engine i had put in is giving me loads of problems.
Idle problem is bugging me as i cant find the problem anywhere
its up and down hot or cold but until last week it only did it when cold
i have removed and cleaned the iscv but no joy
i noticed under the throttle body there is a small pipe with a bolt in the end of it?? its blocking off a air inlet, when i remove it it sucks air and the revs go up?? it looks like its home made...what is ment to be there and is this causing me any problems?
Please Please Help before i sell it

That pipe you talk about underneith inlet is for oil breather at the front of the block, crack case pressure released and back into the intake system.
what is at the breaqther end now if it isnt going into inlet?
should effect idol though, loads of things could be at fault there.
get your self onto RS2000-16V.com and they will help you diagnose it.

I have posted on there but with no joy
everybody says clean the iscv and i did that with no joy
if i remove the plug from it the engine still runs which im told is an air leak, is the the route of my problem? i sprayed lighter gas around all the pipes when engine running but didnt find the leak
this has been going on for a while now and im starting to loose faith in the car
i also am getting about 30miles to Ł10 of fuel and im driving like im 80 years old a smell of fumes is also recently been noticed
what the hell is wrong with it?
stressed Chris

un burnt fuel would mean a spark issue which would also cause your bad idol.
couple of things this could be -
Bad wiring in your coil pack loom - well known to go.
Coil pack failier.
Leads.
Could even be as easy as shite spark plugs bud...
do us a favour, go out and unplug your lambda's for me, see how it runs now???
Feel free to add me on MSN if you need quicker responces -

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
iTrader: (2)
also the coolant temp sensor on the DOHC will cause these issues (although yours is a RS2000 engine, it will still use the temp sensor as a choke)
Mine would stall religously as I came upto the traffic lights until i gave it the new sensor
