Default Standard Series 2 Escort RS Turbo to Cossie Managed. EsCos wheels fitted.

Thought I'd start a thread on conor.rst's behalf as I'm doing the work for him.

He's just bought a standard 90 spec RS Turbo which he wants tidying up and as he's local and didn't really know much about them I offerd to help him out.

Did a few little jobs for him, fitted a new actuator, fuel filter, few gaskets etc but the car was running very rich so we took it to Jano @ Oddkiddcreations. Car was fine for a while but then started playing up again and again So desision was made, before we did anymore mods, like cooler, cam etc he should think about doing a managment swap to make things reliable.

Naturally, we went for Cosworth Management as I know the system and could do the work for him and its proven to work well.

So a trip to Janos and a box of bits later...

Sunday I stripped out all of the old MFI gear, sorted the Escort Loom out etc

and while getting my bumper off the roof of the lockup I thought I'd take a picture of the workshop, showing a few old Fords in various states of dismemberment

Did a few bits to Conors car tonight. Basically just bolted on what I could as a few parts are still to arrive, but it's coming along.

Little bit of a update

Had a clean up of the engine bay today to get it looking abit nicer.

Decided to go with the p8 ecu and antilag setup as it was more cost effective to do it now instead of changing in the future. Also getting Ryan to make one of his nice braided looms.

Other parts going on are:

Koni adjustable
Smaco hose kit
Nice new water header tank
Power flex bushes
turbo heat shield
msd fan switch
Oil breather

Going to take the rocker and charge carrier to the powder coaters at some point this week

Going well so far. I too am doing cossie management atm and often popping up janos to get more parts. One thing to note, -- jano told me to paint the phase disc as it will rust otherwise so best you prob do that mate. Ive also got a loom on order from Ryan, just got to buy a ecu now, am also going for a p8 but not going to run anti lag.

Ought to get a thread about mine going hey. Whatcolour you having your rocker cover and charge pipe etc done? Most people have satin black for their rocker covers etc but i thought i'd be a bit different from the norm and having all my parts done gloss black, including my inlet manifold and coil pack bracket etc. Should look god when all bolted together.

Hey yo, yeah ive got a loom of Ryan as well and a p8 system just waiting on a reply from jano as to when he will sent it all out.

I'm going white rocker and black everything els lol i used to like all the chrome stuff but i have gone right off it now .

I only went for anti lag because it wasn't much extra money and it sounds mega cool lol bit of a pain in the ass having to get the iscv modded tho and the throttle body lol

What spec you running ?

Hi mate,

black and white theme sounds good, rocker cover will look superb in gloss white. I to have gone right off chrome, its such a ball ache to keep nice, even from mine just sitting there in the garage for the last couple years my brand new bailey header tank has lost a fair bit of its mirror like shine, was even thinking of having that done black along with my oil seperator.

My engine is standard apart from a piper cam and vernier pulley. Other mods are a stage 2 hybrid turbo, pace alloy rad and a large mount grs intercooler. As said i'll be running a p8 ecu with ryan loom and im going to run the coilpack conversion. Thats about it really.

I must get over on the oddkidd site/forum again as its been a little while and like getting involved with the friendly forum, jus i only go online at my girlfriends lately, and for some reason keep forgetting my correct log in details lol.

I'll get a thread started about my car soon on here when i get a min to get out there with the camera so keep ya eyes peeled lol

Finally got me ass in gear and went and got oil, Ive been so reluctant to buy is since it went up to £49.99 but the two months of waiting payed off and when i popped up to grab it it had gone down by a tenner :P

Right muz got a fair bit done not as much as we hoped due to the some stubborn parts

So...

Timing is done and phase disk, sensor and bracket all on as well as the bottom pulley and the new cam belt and tensioner.

Bolted the engine back in place.

It took quite a while to re stud the head but the ex manifold is all done now and has a shiny new ford gasket and stud set on it.

The inlet manifold is just placed on at the moment because it proved a pain in the bum to get hold of the gaskets but i have them now!

Drilled a whole in the bulkhead and the back of the glove box and roughly fitted the looms in place. ( it Will have to be moved around again as i want to show as much of it as i can)

Fuel rail injectors and some of the fuel line are on but will need to come off again for a final fit.

fitted the breather.

I think that was about all we got done.

We still have to mod the rocker and the throttle body.

fit the fuel filter.

change oil filter.

re stud the back of the head and fit the inlet properly.

mount the grs cooler and kenlow

fit the header tank and boost, coolant hoses

wire the anti lag up :P :P

Change the oil and coolant.

Work began

Nice neat hole.

Loom aka porn

Test fit 1

test fit 2

Sorry for the lack of pics
