When I saw this thread I had to register! This was my old car before Geoff picked it up off ebay.
I had all the best intentions when I built it to do it proper, but after the initial build (thrown together over a few weeks) it never got pulled off the road to rebuild in a way I would have been happy with. All due to lack of time and fun with the first engine expiring.. quite embarrasing now when I look back at some of the corners I initially cut to get it going.
That said, it was rather too much fun to take off the road!!
Really good to see its still about, I thought it would be on the scrap heap by now.
The original engine went south after the pistons went oval, cracking the block. They were BDA pistons, not cheap, and no idea what caused them to shapeshift.
The new block had all the gear swapped over, but with deskirted pistons, nothing flash this time round, was a budget rebuild. The cam is a Burton BLF18.
The gearbox was supposed to be from a S1 turbo, bought by email, it wasnt! So it sat around for a while until the XR2 box I originally had began to REALLY whine. So was reconditioned, but with a Quaife diff.
If you want to know anything, just ask and I shall try to remember, was 10 years ago!
Oh, and good to see that shitty sunroof is now gone!

stunning wee car, think it was in Fast Ford years ago? Some kind of Fiesta modifying guide where they showed you how to mod each era of Fiesta? Think it was still white at the time, new colour looks ace
