Project suggestions?
Hi all, Fin here, helens other half
Right not sure really where to start....... or if i'll ever get round to starting it, but just testing the water really
first off i'm tempted by starting a escort, either mk 3 or 4, not decided yet for track day, and possibly comp use.
what i would like to do, and after reading a few of the threads, beefs in particular , i would like to go rwd.
now first off, would it be better, using the whole floor plan from a sierra donor, or just the tunnel, strut mountings, front and rear? i'm thinking of getting a cvh sierra, but would the floor plan should be similar to that of a 2wd cossie, am i right in thinking this?
gearbox wise, i don't think will be a problem, theres stack s of goodies to mount either t5's or type 9's to a cvh... the real question is 5 or 6 speed!
i'm pretty certain that i would want to run cossie beam + diff, ... would also like to run drop link roll bar and compression stuts on the front.... would this cause issues with a escort rack?
i'm also thinking of keeping it cvh for cheapness, obviously turbo'd, so am wondering how much of the front i would have to cut out, will keep the firewall, bulk head so shouldn't run into to many steering issuses.
i would also like to put on some riduclous arches, thunder saloonish.
so basically it boils down to a.......
cvh, rwd escort mk3/4, stacked to the gunnels with trick suspension
any help, advice, idea on cost etc will be warmley welcomed
