Default rwd bike engined fiesta, nearly finished, 2/1/10

after the focus was finished at the start of the year i wanted to build another bike engined fiesta but this time the engine was to go in the rear, similar to a z cars mini. bought a mk1 fiesta on ebay for £156 in march then bought a 2003 zzr1200 engine, started stripping the car in may ready for the build.

Cool project you really need to get the weight down as much as possible on these bike engined cars as they have so little torque, and it looks like you are doing a good job on that front so far

That looks like it's gunna b fun. Can I suggest 1 thing tho, don't hold the fuel tank down with brackets bolted to the floor and welded to the tank.
It's quite easy for the welds to crack and leak fuel if there's any movement. Your safer if you have 2 rubber straps going over the top of the tank and bolted down.
