Things are moving along...... its painted in 'frozen white'
I dont think the arches look too bad with it now being one colour.
There are a few runs in it but im going to get it rolling and everything fitted in place and then its going to get proper buffed up and finished, as I dont want to be marking the paint work unnecessarily.

Moved on alittle bit further, got the front and rear suspension in and it back on its wheels.

Only to fit the rear diff mount doesnt line up!

The ride height might need adjusted though

Good read, thanks for that Can I be brutally honest about the arches?? They just don't work IMHO and ruin the car, I'm not saying I know how the hell you're going to cover those tyres but there has to be a better way.

I agree Martin, not an easy task, could they not be built into the panels making the whole panel wider and more flowing rather than just the arch its self stuck on, then have a wider sill extension to linking the two together?

If that makes sense

If people can offer a better off the shelf solution then I am all ears...
I agree with people to a certain extent.
Do I like them.... No,
Do I wish they were smaller and the wheels more inboard ... Yes.
There's many things, with hindsight, I would like to change, but for now that's how it's going to be.

Have a cat to Owens Fabrication or Custom Mini's as they both run very, very wide Mini's.

Yeah it's still alive.
There's been a few set backs, mainly after a turbo rebuilt it seized and snapped the shaft generating in this:
http://youtu.be/15A27KMHmsQ

So once I got another turbo and installed it was pretty much the end of the season.
It's now rested up over the winter and I've swapped out the front diff seal as it was leaking.

I just have to sort out the anti lag and launch control buttons, then I should be good to go once the weather gets a bit better

Although it has been modded again!

Took it to get set up at MSD, only to get there and find out that it doesn't fit on their rolling road!! (Fail)
But they did a static check and sorted a few issues, one was a leaky dump valve!

It's surprising how much you have to remove to get the front diff out!!!

Cool vids, I'm a bit surprised about the times though. Whats the engine spec? 300bhp in a mini should be stupid fast. Vtec minis do the 1/4 mile in 13s for example.

Yeah I know, a little disappointed with the time but it's was my first time out at the pod with a dodgy turbo. The car is quite heavy for what it is too.
It's a 380bhp MSD chip. I aim to get my times down but don't want to kill the gearbox quite just yet!

You seemed fine, sounded more like the car had no boost maybe a few psi, certainly not the 15-20 odd psi I would have expected at over 300bhp and a T3! I think with boost and 380bhp you would be seeing lower than mid 12's. A mini is 700KG's and a cosworth is a little over 1200KG's. You must be around 1ton.

Good to see your still tweeking this thing,,,, been tweeking mine for years now, its the hardest bit getting it usable and to handle how you want it to...
What does it corner like? Any over steer under steer etc..

Yep, I do think I will be tweaking this for years to come.
I fiddled with the throttle body the other day in anticipation of running the anti lag on the chip.
It should make getting off the line more interesting!
It handles very well and just goes where I point it, with no under or oversteer.
It's limited with what you can do on the street but I gave it progressive throttle round a roundabout and it just went round it and spat me out the other end.
I think to really test it a track day will be order. Although I have to sort out the exhaust first as it doesn't exactly have one.
