With the old EFi inlet did you make up the adaptor yourself? I need to do the same or machine the head for it to accept injectors.

Awesome Yeah it looks nice though I think if me and my Bro can make it work for not alot of money then we will do it that way. We're opting for a Hybrid T4 so it's going to be a handful :P

What you building like mate because a T4 will be a hard to fit and you find it hard to get it to run well
jano does some good prices mate

Just a CVH with Accralite forged pistons - +1.5mm overbore, flowed head and probably a Piper T2 Cam. Running Omex 500/550 management. Going to either re-drill the original manifold to make it fit or make a new manifold from scratch. It's going in a Ka

No offence mate but that will be god awful, unless you plan on revving to 9000 rpm you will end up with an utterly pointless car never properly coming on boost.

Stage 2 t3 -230 bhp
Stage 3 t3 - 250-270 brake
t34 .48 - 300 brake
t34 .55 - 330 brake

So i don't really see why any one would need a t4 on an rst......

Not to mention how big they are, you will not fit one in a Ka with out a different manifold over the gearbox. You would be better off with a GT28, t34 or cosworth 4x4 t3 IMO

It's going to be running about 1bar boost and we're expecting it to make 230-240bhp. We reckon it should kick in around 3800-4000, it's a hybrid with T3 housing if I remember rightly.

Which t3 housing? exhaust? and if your only running 1 bar then honestly you will be disappointed with that turbo, a t34 comes in at that sort of rpm (loaded), so i doubt a t4 will. Probably worth starting a thread in the rst section and getting a few opinions from others.

Dont thing it will be a T4 mate the only part you could use from a T4 is the core or the shaft if its got a 63 rear housing so not making much diffrents. All i would said is be careful when buying a turbo. best turbo to get for that power is stage 2 T3 or stage 3

Can't recall exactly the spec but it's from an Alfa touring car - I picked it up for like 200 quid, would have been daft not to go for it. If it doesn't fit/doesn't come on boost well then we can sell it on and get a smaller one but I don't want to further hijack this thread

Its being run in on a stage 2 t3, and i can't decide on a turbo from there its either going to be stage 3 t3, gt28, or t34 with a .48 housing.

Genuinely can't decide. Im really interested to see what power your makes bram, such a cool build.

I can't wait to see how your Haltech mapping goes. I have started to build the base maps - fuel and timing for my 1.9 cvh.
It will be interesting to compare at some point.

Cheers

Well I would like to complement you boys, Lee and Steve have put together a very good and reliable package.

I had them arrive on Friday morning after a 6 hour trip upto Blair Atholl. They pulled their car off the trailer and started it and it idled away quite nicely. I took it and put it on the dyno, after many hours of abuse on the dyno it never missed a beat!

It ran and performed perfectly with zero instalation issues, a credit to the boys and there mechanical/electrical skills.

Simon.

We arnt quite at that stage yet, they need to get the car MOTed and fully run in, I also need a spec change to the head in order to extract the power from the build.

Give it a month or two, and watch it go!

Ha yeah that was me i could never get the car to run right. dont get me wrong jano did a good job but it just wasnt working.

the car runs great now i got it off the trailer and took it down the road and it felt very good

simon has limit it to 290bhp until the engine gets run in abit more and i need to sort some better tyres and get the tracking done because we were have some problems with the spinning in the rollers. We are going back up after central day and we should be looking at 340bhp then we got some more work to do to the head at a later date and am hoping to see 360bhp+
Top man tho got the car sorted and went though everthink he was doing with us

Just to give you some more encouragement, Niks ZVH yesterday on Extreme Motorsports rollers pulled 340 bhp at 7000rpm and 330 torque at 18psi. He is posting graphs later today or tomorrow. His engine is the same as yours, same cam, his turbo is simular size but his porting is different.
You can expect simular.

Hello feels like along time that i haven't put a update on here and its because theres not much to up date but just thought i would fill yous in. i mot and tax the car then tryed to drive it to get some miles on the engine and adjusted the map along the way before taking back to sitech. The car has been great and not had any realy big problems just pipes poping off and coolent map needed sorting. After fitting a boost control valve we went back to sitech, we then adjusted the cam and set about mapping.
We have now got the boost set at 23psi and making 334bhp untill we get the head sorted. just some pics but not alot

there is two runs on here but run1 was on the wrong load setting so isn't right run2 is the one to look at. Also sorry for the bad pic my phone isn't good at taking pics so il get my brother to take one.

thanks
lee
