My ka project
Hello folks, im new to passionford and thought id start my little build up thread. I currently own a 1.3 enduro engined ka, i purchased it as a quick run about to get to work and back but have decided to have a play with it. Many mods are planned including full strip out with cage, engine transplant and big brake conversion. The intention is to have a quick little go-kart for daily commute and the odd track days etc... Looking for inspiration so any thoughts most grateful especially regarding engine transplants Hope you like.
Right were do i start, 1st day of ownership and sitting at just affords in rugeley awaiting mot:
One week later, full mot and 6 months taxed, fitted full jamex springs and shocks and aquired a set of puma propeller wheels courtesy of ebay:

i think the best engine to put in would be a 1.7 puma engine,
it will require mods to fit but once in over 120 brake with more to be had
obviously a racing opuma engine is better but they cost alot more and it is possible to get the same power from a standard one.
plus a high bhp wont be needed as much in a ka as you want to strip it and they dont weight much to start.
as for brakes itd get mondeo mk3 calipers and st170 discs for a cheap but good setup, and itll fit under those wheels i beleive
get some more pics up

The puma swap sounds a very interesting mod the puma and the ka are almost identical underneath so im wondering how streight forward a swap it would be, i was also pondering 1.8 zetec with 2.0 cams etc

1.8 and 2 litre zetec are much harder to fit i beleive,
all so st170 calipers are identical to the mondy ones but usually cost more due to the st170ness.
im not sure if there a direct fit, but not impossible, some brackets will be needed though, but dont know if these are available to buy or a machining shop would have to make them for you.
if i find out ill post back on here, there also may be a fitting guide previously worte on here, so have a look, theres some other good kas too, a fully rally spec one iirc
