Default Restoration my sierra cosworth 4x4 Update 11-9

Hi mate's

After posting my fiesta mk2 rs turbo i would to make an topic about my sierra.

I bougth this car 1 year ago. And set it immediately in the garage for the winter months.
When the summer begin i started with a good cleaning. The car came from Italy and i living in the netherlands. The advantage from it is no rust! But the sky is hanging down.

The car was running on a stage 1 chip. Had a dumpvalve, and a half stainles exhaust.
And from outside complete original.

Here pics of the car!

When i had drivin a 3000km's the engine broke down. So the day after it i started to search for the problem. And about that i was not happy! See the pics below

The piston from the third cylinder is burned. So what to do now. I go for a complete restoration!
First i started to get the engine out. This was verry difficult for my. I never had worked on a cosworth. After mutch hard working its down.

So this was it for now. Tomorrow or in the weekend a next update!

Hope you like my project.

Cheers

Costs a fortune with all the new parts and the +0.5 pistons, but it will be worth it.

The engine looks even better in real life

Well noticed

We both live in Roermond yes. Elpmt is very close indeed, think it's less then 10 Km. It's a nice little place because the unlimited motorway to Munchen Gladbach stars there

If I may awnser for Nick. We used the gasket we got from you (small turbo Escos), good enough for the power it will be running

[dutchmode]

De auto is al een paar weken klaar maar Nick is er nu pas aan toe gekomen om zijn verhaaltje hier te plaatsen. Om niet het topic meteen naar beneden te laten vallen plaatst hij nu gewoon om te zoveel tijd een update.

I passed a German police car there (between Wegberg and Elmpt) the other day with 220+km/h

For now i started to build up the engine and gearbox.

When everything is in new color and fitted again it looks great! Like to do this work. Much better then get everything of.

First i get all the stuff from Mike Rainbird. A box of 34kg. And it isnt everything.

The new oil pump, take a pic becease cosworth stays on it. I'm never gone see it again.

started with the engine

Also fitted shortshift and Powerflex on the cradle from the gearbox

Engine and gearbox

Also replaced all the bushes for powerflex ones

Hope you like everything!
Cheers

Die van jou marco. Is prima voor mij. Hou het toch onder de 300pk. Heb wel een andere chip ondertussen. Een van gerry knubben. De oude vertrouwde ik toch niet helemaal eigenlijk.

Next update,

First fix the exhaust and the underside. Stabi, etc.

Then the car have seen the daylight again! First test drive was good!
But you get used to the vibratechnics. Hear the engine better in the car. Or feel it

I'm verry happy with the result. It costs but you have quality.

Time for the pics.

Front bumper back on an it looked good

First day light

And my brothers 3drs

My sierra, broors one, and my fiesta mk2 turbo

Afther a good cleaning together with the fiesta mk2 turbo

Hope you liked the topic! When i change something i put it in here.

Cheers!
