Just emailed TAGPLATES to see if they can replicate this... Good job i took a photo last weekend before it was painted.
I have the original VIN plate still thankfully.

Im told they can re-produce these on original FORD plates.

Woooo! Quick reply!

This may be of help to anyone restoring there car..

TAGPLATES can reproduce your VIN or colour build plate Email reply is below for your reference.

Hi Luke

Thank you for your enquiry. We need a copy of the log book and a copy of identity, such as a copy of the paper part of your driving licence or a recent utility bill. The cost of the vin plate is £39.99 the colour build plate is £25.00. You can fax/email the documents and pay by debit/credit card or post them along with a cheque, payable to Tag Plates. If you know any details for the plates that is a great help, or post the old ones and we will send them back recorded delivery.

Regards
Kim

Well a little update of some bits that I have been slaving over the past few days...

More chrome/polished alloy has been sold/ or swaped for standard items, I have then tickled them somewhat with some degreaser and a little magic.

The brake servo/mastercylinder has been revamped along with the inlet manifold.

I also took delivery of an awesome set of original plates, tax disc holder and dealer sticker that Chris Latham kindly sent to me this week.

BIG big thanks for sorting that Chris chris@passionrestorationproducts.com

Here they are...

Hi Luca, this was my car from 92-99. i bought the car with 38,000 miles on and sold it with 76,000 to a guy from birmingham, think his surname was moore. it had an interpro chip in it and ran 175 bhp. The guy who bought it from me had the leather seat bolsters done, added all the chrome stuff and did the dimond cutting on the wheels, which i think looks spot on and you should never change s1 wheels as they are so cool for car and dimond cutting just that little bit different. Got some old photos of it at national day and it had loads of first place working class trophys etc. I originally sold it to start my own business and was gutted. The guy who i sold it to said he would let me know when it was back up for sale, but i was on holiday and missed an answerphone message and when i got home it had sold to someone else. Left a message on here about a month ago asking if anyone knew where it was. If you want need any info about then i will try to help. Like the standard look and keep cvh as good original car, still see production line stickers in boot which is rare as rockin horse poo.

I swapped the polished inlet that was on the car which im sure a previous owner spent a small fortune on , it needed to go though to make way for standard. Once the standard inlet arrived it was un polished yet very dirty.

I was debating having this sand blasted but this would remove the original castings. I spoke with Chris Latham who professionally restores these parts and the he can actually get the exact finish as it left Ford. As good as this is I wanted to keep this project my own, hands on style..the fiesta absorbs all the ££££ at mo.

Once i cleaned the inlet I then gave it a light coat of etch primer and sat on the radiator for half hour then a light dusting in Ford Moondust silver.

Then once dried the colour zinc plating and the silver zinc plating parts were re-attached.

Hi Col,

FANTASTIC, thank you kindly for the reply and info given. Dont worry it will be looked after still and more than likely put back to the same style as was when in your ownership.

I would very much like to see some photos of the car back in the days of your ownership. I placed a thread on SeriesOne forum requesting some original S1 concours photos.. Just to see how things should really look.

If you have any detailed pics or any in fact... please feel free to add them on here or to Pm /email them. That would be most appreciated.

Wheels are staying or replaced for original finish ones.

hi col

i bought the s1 from a guy in birmingham who was emigrating to aus, he said he had bought it off a local guy who had done all the chrome work, i pressume he is the guy you sold it to

i owned it for 3 years and had it running 200bhp with a bigger intercooler, cam, quickshift, polybushes plus some other stuff before selling it to luke

it still has all the trophies with it and is only on 86'000 miles now and still has the folder with all the previous owners and history etc....
