Default Firenza 6 litre project... Its painted, pics pg 11.

This is the start of my Firenza build...

Have measured up my Firenza and an LS2 engine and T56 box will just about fit, have just ordered a Hummer sump from the states as it looks to be the best fit..

This is the spec:

Firenza SL (zero rust and owned by me for 17 years)
LS2 6 litre engine/box
Mustang 5 litre 8.8 inch rear rear end
Cosworth 4x4 brakes f/r
16" split rims
Porsche seats

Etc etc

I have 4 project cars that need my attention.. Mondeo, RS500, Pug 4x4 and the Firenza.. So I have picked two to finish first, Pug and Firenza are the chosen ones!

Pics to follow ......

I like the sound of that Martin, good things come to those that wait.

Gonna save you hassle on chopping for a roof skin, new carbon item to be purchased from streamline carbon, unless the roof is on?

Yip, if you get a minuite Martin have a look on their site www.streamlinecarbon.com see what you think in pug section.

Oh if you require any hard to get Firenza parts ive got really good contacts at my local vaux dealer.

Also they've just restored one for heritage museum.

Will check that out Rob. I saw the Firenza they bought and it was a very poor example compared to mine, having said that mine wasn't for sale anyway... I turned down quite a sum for it not long ago, not everything has a price

Soundsa great project, but may I ask why a Firenza? Whats the appeal to you over something like a mk1 Escort etc...? Genuine question

Mk1 Escorts are fine but I much prefer the looks of the Firenza, when I was younger I owned loads of them and never once wanted a Mk1. The other thing is, when was the last time you saw a really mint Firenza?

Here's the car back when I bought it in 1992..

The last picture shows the car having new wings fitted, the old ones were as new but the earlier cars had wierd shaped wing tops that went upwards towards the edge, later models were a more flat design which I prefer.

Shortly after the pics were taken (mid 1992) I took it off the road and fitted a 4.1 Rover V8 with quad dellorto carbs, I was never 100% happy with the Rover engine so a BMW 4.0 V8 with 6 speed box was bought to replace it. The BMW engine didn't get fitted as my head was turned by the Chevy LS2

As it is right now:

LS2 6 litre V8

Damaged Pontiac GTO donor

Porsche seats will be re-trimmed but the shape is perfect for the car

it went down the spectators slope and the fooker dug its nosecone into the gravel and ripped a chunk of fibreglass off, then the stewardess was going you'll do it if you go hard over on the other side so the driver did and it fucking scooped up the gravel on the other side

my uncle had a firenza and drove it like gerry marshall on the way to happy hr down the pub
