Thought it was about time we got a dedicated car to use and have fun on some track days,so with a bit of luck we stumbled across this little mk4 escort bonus ,a deal was struck, one day insurance sorted and we drove it home , going to be built up with mostly second hand bits from other projects etc ,but will still be built to a nice standard

Its out being used in the snow now, still a few bits to finish off yet. . . But overall still all good and going well

Gonna have to change a engine mount I think, its rattling at low revs. . . need better weather to investigate

Well povs had a hard 1st week back on the road. Been used daily sometimes with temperatures as low as minus 12

. . . And so far so good. Its highlighted 3 issues so far. 1 dodgy starter. It does work most of the time, not bothered. I have 3 spares.

A fuel issue on cold start. Takes a few cranks to start. Seems to me the fuel is flowing back when left? Not running with a fuel filter at present

And a engine mount issue. The rubber looks ok, but its vibrating like mad on idle. Sounds like metal on metal?

gonna try a new mount. If you push on the block. It shuts up.

Did wanna fit the standard air box but was too much work, filter came up cheap

. . . Did clean it all up yesterday. But run out of daylight for pics. Its keeping me busy. . .

drives mint though. Worth while conversion. Will sort some pics out in the week

Its not to bad inside tbh. . . just get a couple of fleeces on and a hat and its fine.

Had money back from the mount, they've sending all there stock back to the supplier

Aint had much time to do owt on any of the Orions. . .
But I have fitted this this morning :mrgreen: Phone pics dont do the steering wheel or the car any justice

Dunno if I'll keep the wheel, might sell it on as not a big fan of the 4 spokes, but its on POV for now

Prefer the Saff 3 spoke on the Zetec Turbo Orion :mrgreen:
