RS powered mk5 Fiesta
i have been a member on here for a while now, bought quite a few bits from members. I am a regular user on zsoc, but getting fed up with the site..
So i bought the car back in july 2006 from a local brakers yard.
It needed a bit of work to see it back on the road, but with only 32000 miles and FSH it was worth it.
SO after some new parts were fitted:
front bumper
headlights
front cross member
wing
drivers door
rear axle
power steering pump
It was looking like this within a couple of days
Then off to the bosyshop it went for some paint and some colour coding and a smooth boot. I also sourced a rare set of ultra rear lights.
Once it was back home, i had the bits for a 2.0l focus rear disc conversion

One of many trips to ford saw me bag some brand new FRP seats for just short of £500.
It now stood looking like this around december 2006
Yet another trip to ford, i ordered some new wheels. I went and picked them up as soon as they were in..
I sat some 205/40 avons on them, which caused me pain later on..
Some weitec coilovers found there way on to the car. Big mistake! They were crap!
The engine was still pretty standard at this point. With a puma inlet, panel filter and FRP 4-2-1. RR'd at 117bhp

I then went and bought a set of RS2000 wheels in anthracite to use daily. They didn't go down well with the local assholes, as within a day of fitting them, the car was egged. Costing me a re-spray!
The rs wheels then went white..
then orange
then black before i sold them
Ford fair 2008
we stopped on the way home.
Around october 2008 i put my new GAZ coilovers on, such a massive improvement.
And it was around this time i felt i had to have a change it style. I was getting sick of the mirror images. And with Euro style becoming more popular...

I went and bought these rather expensive wheels, which i wasted no time in stripping apart to be polished.
And with some elastic bands fitted (new tyre on the left and old tyre on the right)
This bought me up to December 2008

I was browsing the forum when i saw a red zetec s with a shawspeed tuned engine in..
So i though this would be an ideal power upgrade at a tiny fraction of the price!
The spec of engine when i bought it..
SS4 cams and shims
HD bolts
4-2-1 ashley manifold
and hole lot of cable ties!
I drove this aroudn for a couple of months, it ran like a sack of shit, due to being in the standard ECU. This period gave me time to take the engine out of mine and paint the engine bay.
The engine was removed from the blue one..
At this point i felt a bit of "ford-proofing" was a good plan.
The bay was finally a shade of Imp blue, not sure why ford couldnt have done this to begin with!?
Whilst i was messing around with paint, i stripped the majority of the ancilaries from the Shawspeed engine ready for some paint.
So from this..

I spent a few hours toying with different gearbox ideas.
First was something which hadnt been done much on the site, but the people who had weren't intrested in helping. a 1.7 puma box, 1.6 final drive and a s2 erst LSD.
Or an FRP item which would have been the same spec as above, but about 4 times the price. I was quoted £800 for a new one.
I decided to have a go at building the box myself, so i got a puma box and a s2 rst box and set about pulling them apart. I used my own 1.6 box to salvage the final drive.
Once the box was finished i gave it a shiny coat of black..
One shawspeed spec'd lump ready to go in its new home..
I had been speaking to interpro about supplying and fitting an omex 600 for me once the engine was back in. It was booked for a close, date so the rush began.
Ready for lift off..
seated..
Quick spec
SS4 cams
HD bolts
L&B Flywheel
Helix organic clutch
1.7 puma box with 1.6 FD and RST lsd
puma inlet
SS miltek mani
KN racing 10mm leads
K&N panel filter
Now was time for testing. It ran very bad. Cutting out at every junction. But only a week until omex time!
Whislt the car was away, i got around to re-building the Th lines. that takes time

An idea of the desired stretch..
I finnally go to pick the car up from interpro. A month behind schedule..
But.. i was happy...
So the first meet of the season was at Castle coombe on easter monday. the owners club met up to support a member in the saloon car chamionship.
Me and the mrs then stopped for a few snaps together on the way home..
(keep an eye out for a project thread on the red one appearing soon)
Once i was back at work, i felt the car needed some more work towards the euro scene.
Some pressed plates..
And an omex on the floor.. Yay!
Bumpers painted..

I have had some major plans for the car for a while now.
The look will be changing slightly, still "euro" but more pratical. More will be revealed as it happens, probably not till next year due to the below
Also the Engine is going to make way for this little beauty.
Can anyone identify the make of this?
It has covered all of 15000 miles since new.
FRS Engine with all ancilaries
Genuine FRS gearbox with LSD.
Came with miles of wiring. Complete wiring harness i think.
All fuel lines, and brake lines.
gearbox linkage
drive shafts
ECU and chip
Rad and fans
A brand new FMIC
Custom made Manifold
Downpipe + Flexi
I know i wont be needing a lot of the above wiring and ecu for the conversion. But i will keep it all until i have finished just in case.
I also need a lot of other parts to get it up and running, so i will keep a keen eye open!
Anyone with great knowledge of the FRS engine who can help me identify parts i have floating around would be a hero!
