Yeah, they are mint. Probably just keep it as it is, would be a shame to change the original look of how the car is knows. I'll just sort the belts etc on the engine, then a few issues around the bodywork first and get it as pristine as possible. Then we'll see what direction I take with it. Love it as is

Principles normally revolve around never buying other peoples hard work...so I'm diluding myself by making myself believe "it was built and not used"

Using it for everyday use, bit of track, shows etc. etc. Hopefully away to Europe in it this year, or what's left of the year. We'll see how it all pans out

Cheers Geoff, and thanks for the help in the last couple of weeks. Appreciate it!

And buy the white one back, would be cool to see you take it to a different level

Loving the tags, obvious from which minority

@ Geoff

Yeah I always loved the cab, always have a look around it if its at shows, you've had it for ages too

Forgot about the white rally Focus you had, thought it was the one on ebay. But that did look really coolM buy that back if you can

And you're right, as much as I like the FRS...its a 1.4 compared to how a YB drives

Yeah deffo Si

Sorry about lack of pics, I have been working on it a lot today and in very strong wind and rain...so pics are a little difficult to take without drowning the camera

But changed the oil for some Silkolene, adjusted the coilovers and fitted some spacers on the front wheels (just for the MOT). Took a sneaky drive to the bottom of the road, oil pressure and water temps looking good from cold to hot. Pressure washed underneath her, looks brand new Just waiting on the usual sensors and belts now.

I'm away working in Spain on the 9th-16th, so hopefully be able to find time to MOT it and get some miles under her belt before leaving. I'm dying to

UPDATE TIME!

Had the MOT on Friday, passing with flying colours. And just about made it to the DVLA 5 minutes before they shut so I could pick up my tax. All well so far!

But afterwards, I took a drive up to see John Coles and she developed a bit of a knock on cylinder 1 and the oil pressure was way below par. So Saturday, popped over to John's and we got to work. This is how she looked by the afternoon...

Taking the engine appart, the oil pump was obviously well shagged judging by the scoring inside....

But looks like it was caught just in time, not much wear or damage or anything else. So all in all I feel alright about having the engine come out. It can now be rebuilt to a better spec using new components all over.

Spend this morning painting and rebuilding the inlet manifold, cleaning the sump and giving it a lick of paint and a few other little bits n' bobs.

Oh it ain't dead, was working just fine...just no oil pressure But I think we caught it just in time before it did long term damage...especially to my wallet! But we'll see when the head comes off.

Working away next week in Spain, so that gives John loads of time to focus on his own car, then when I'm back it'll be a mad building session to get it back on the road asap
