Should be good fun when its done. Im sure you will have a right hoot in it

I like the standard look of white Gti's. Might have to get mine painted and find some wheels.

Because by mounting them in the floor it's pulling you down into the seat rather than backwards into the seat. If you crash it could cause damage to your spine!

From memory I don't think your supposed to have and angle of more than 15 degrees. That's why most people fit a half cage for harnesses.

Not having a dig, it's just not a good set-up althought you may feel more secure. Sometimes the cheapest option isn't the best...

No worries had a similair problem, so I just welded some footplates in and put a bolt in half cage with a harness bar in the back. Think custom cages or alike would probably do something for 200-300 will be more comfortable and mainly safer.

After sourcing another engine i got cracking with the 205 and after weeks of getting dirty the car was ready to fire up but no spark and after a lot of head scratching we found out the crank sensor was fucked! the car now runs and il get some pics up when i get home! cant wait to get the thing back on the road tbh!

Good cars im preparing one for rallying.Newish 205 safety devices cages have harness bars so you should be ok,or you could weld ones in easilly enough.Weld in seat rails arnt too hard to fit either if you are good with a welder, makes sense doing it the same time as the cage.

when it comes to seat mountings, the only way to do it properly is to chop the standard mounts out and weld in some tubes/box section across the floorpans. and to get the drivers seat to sit square on to the wheel you need to chop out a small section of the tunnel and weld a bit of angle in.
for the love of god dont try and use the standard mountings, or if you do make sure you weld something fairly hefty to them like some 25x5mm flat bar across the top, i'll try and find a pic in a sec to show you why.

oh and try and steer clear of OMP cages, Safety devices are far superior, they fit a million times better, the only thing is out SD cage fits behind the dash, not sure if the new ones are the same.
