I think I will use a sticker front plate between ford badge grill and lower mesh or small bike plate and see how I get on

Here's a frontal for ta mate

Another small thing finished now

I had to have a larger hole than needed to allow me to tilt the gearbox during fitting and removal other it fouled on the tunnel so the hole was cut larger but this will allow dirt/debris/water/ fumes into the cab so it had to be sealed but easily removable

Size: 305.6 KB

So I fitted some DZUS slide latch bobbins to the tunnel and made up a cover piece in ally and riveted on the slide latch then covered with the same 3m carbon look vinyl that I done the door bars in, then on the underside its padded out with adhesive battery tray foam to give a flexible but total seal

Job done,

Maybe not to everybody's taste but as always it is function over form allow easy removal of gearbox

It does not sit flush and is not supposed to as it allows the foam to compress to create the seal

Thanks
Marc

With all the labels such as diff, fan etc on the switches, is that dymo label white on clear? Looks good and I like the quick release gearbox cover....I guess you expect to be taking the box out again? I have not decided how to seal mine yet, was thinking of using riv nuts and out a cover over, I too want the box to be easy to come out, I am having my carpets made up so that they can easily come out there too.

Yeah labels are just basic white on clear

The box will be out very often until I can afford a PD box further down the line

Hello Everyone!

It is lovely to see all the different uses of Dymo tapes and just how well they can look when used in these types of projects!

Big thanks for all your continued support and of course we are readily available if you run into problems or have questions!

Funny you should say that, after seeing this I went and bought a DYMO rhino 6000 and ordered black on clear, the casstte says 6mm black clear " clear polyester tape" but it prints black on white. Code 1805440?????

I now realise I need white on clear!

Hiya Caddyshack,

Big thanks for your support and on your purchase.
Now regarding the tape you mentioned (1805440) I checked in from our end it is correct it is supposed to be black on clear, not black on white. So it would seem like something has gone a little bit wrong there and I do apologize for the inconvenience.

However in this case I would like to advice you to contact us directly (see contact info below) and we will see if we can't get you the correct cassette as well as a white on clear one.

Contact information:
GB: 020 3564 83 54 (Monday to Friday: 9am - 5pm)
IE: 015 17 18 56 (Monday to Friday: 9am - 5pm)

It is an odd feleling leaving it in someone else's care when you have done that many hours on it....I hope it comes back soon.

It's on the chunky side but never expected it to be light with all the cage work

With me and 45 Litres of fuel its roughly 1300kg

It has been set up geometry wise with a passenger in weighing the same as me as mostly have somebody in it on track days so with that it's around 1390kg

Weight saving can come at a later date when time and money allows

Carbon roof
Carbon boot
Carbon bonnet
Carbon doors
Carbon front wings

But that's a few grand easy so rather spend on a good gearbox first

If it's not too late, how about getting it setup with say 40-50kgs in the passenger seat.
As in 1/2 the weight of a passenger so its 1/2 way between with a passenger and without?
That's what I did with mine.
