Hub selector blocks lol - failed !

I had some gears like that in mine when I rebuilt it, no big deal.

Mines really nice and smooth, no issues selecting any gears and using std gear oil.

To be fair the box was Ł325 when I bought it so cheap for 1 of these and I never planned on using this one but you know how it is lol

Will probably go for another second hand 1 for now

Interesting thing I found out though is for approx Ł3k you can get a complete brand new oem box still

Blimey, that is good as I was quoted that for a rebuild. I spoke to a breaker who said that the newer box can be built in to that space, that would be the r36? 6 speed box that can take 1000bhp.

The R34 Getrag 6 speed is a totally different box. It can't be built into an R32/33 case.
Total shape difference too.

I rebuilt my R33 box for around Ł300

Not according to GTbitz. I know it is different but he thought it would fit within same confines of my tunnel and also using my bellhousing.

Not arguing so if anyone wants any R33 or R34 bits or advice on these gearboxes speak to GTbitz on 07702 112 770 he has loads of stuff and know pretty much all there is to know on Skylines.

I have found a second hand box which is supposedly low miles and
Mint so I'm going to take a punt on that and get it at the end of the month

On another note I've sourced a replacement new ford 90amp alternator from graham Goode racing as my one was slightly low out putting a max of 13.6v

Picked up for an absolute steal so had to have it

10hz gps with 3 axis G-sensor so will be able to add track maps and also speed to the logging which is something I always fancied but not for the retail price lol

Replacement box nearly ready to go Back in,

This was supposedly mint and 65k miles

When I swapped the bellhousings I checked and it still has all the shifter inserts and Spring inserts in place and I when I drained the old oil there were no random bits of metal etc which is a good sign

With this box I'm gonna try genuine Nissan gear oil and motul atf fluid for the transfer box

Not had a chance to touch the fiesta lately and it's been sitting in bits since after ford fair pretty much so took a day off work to go round today and re fit the new gearbox

Must be out of touch with my car as got gearbox back on and realised I had forgot the flywheel dust shield so had to come back off again

Anyway box now back in along with props

Tomorrow I need to tighten a couple more cap heads that I did not have the cut down Allen key to get to today then re fit exhaust

Fill then Bleed attessa pump

Fit new alternator I bought a while back

Also when re fitting the prop today I lock wired the bolts as they fell out at Silverstone pretty much so now I know that will never happen again

Then need to order some new fuel filters to fit as although they have not done a lot of miles they have been fitted for about 5 years lol

I also have my life racing f88 Ecu and full raychem loom for sale if anybody is interested Ł2200

Thanks
Marc
