How much would an exhaust end cost?

I want a side exit on my jeep like the Merc G wagons.

They are quite costly to make being hand made mate

Example - materials alone is about £50 to £60 for one I am doing for someone else at the moment then my labour and consumables cost so about £150 - £175 all in for a single side exit like 1 of mine

Right, were is the center supports to stop it flattening over the bumps when you are rallycrossing it?

Didn't see the point in the center supports for what I am using it for but could easily add them in about half hour if I changed my mind

I thought you mean centre supports as in hangers to start hence the edit lol

Believe it or not I would actually like to try it on a loose surface but not just yet lol also I doubt it would be allowed in any classes due to its type of build

Got the car out today and fired up

Exhaust doesn't really sound any different as I've only added the tailpipes but it was only meant to direct any gases away from the underside anyway

Sound on the iPhone not great but here is a clip anyway

You'd have to make a few changes (exhaust configuration and a turbo restrictor immediately spring to mind), but I suspect this car is already pretty close to rallycross Supercar specification. In fact - and as I posted in my first post here - the reason I'm so taken by this build is because you've effectively built a road-legal rallycross Supercar.

However, having said that, I personally think it would be a shame to take your car rallycrossing: with all the thought and effort you have put in, it would be a terrible shame to see it get crashed into!

Exhaust now mounted on its rubber bobbins so it's stiff but not solid and hopefully will have no cracking issues

I also gave the area a coat of oxide then stone guard where I had welded the bosses in, will give this a lick of matching paint when the bonnet is done a bit later in the year but will protect it for now

Not done anything on the car in a few months but had the urge to do something with it today so thought I would tackle the alternator heat shield ......

This is what happened after a 250mile round trip and half a track day when I drove the car to Snetterton

Can't be having that so a heat shield was needed

Needed to make something up to go here
