The LAST Scorpio Cosworth ever built
Picked this up a week ago for the princely sum of £700. 83k, mot until Nov, taxed until Sep. No major issues - drives as it should and quiet as a mouse (unless you floor it). Is it the LAST Scorpio Cosworth ever built? It's the only Y reg the club knows of.
On Monday I gave the car a good going over and found a few probs:-
1: No rear wheel arch liners. I now have fitted replacements.
2: Oil leak from the sump plug. New sump plug and washer fitted.
3: PS fluid leak. New jubilee clip on the bottom of the PS res outlet.
4: Interior lights not working. Traced to a dead power saver relay, now replaced.
5: Couple of dash/clock bulbs out. Now replaced.
6: ABS/TCS light would come on intermittently. Traced to a corroded rear abs sensor connector. Now cleaned and working ok now.
7: Tyres were barely legal. New Pirelli P6000's fitted all round.
Now all the little niggles were sorted I turned my attention to getting the car spruced up.
Then fitted a metal Cosworth badge and dark side repeaters.
Fitted 6x8 JBL speakers in the rear and a Kenwood KCH200 media extender in the glove box (lets you play MPS of a USB stick, control iPods etc).
Next the engine bay - cleaned with Autoglym Vinyl and plastic restorer/protection. Still alot to do yet - just breaking it down into small chunks atm:-
Then the interior - cleaned with ArmourAll leather cleaner then treated with Autoglym leather feed:-
Then the hard work. Washed the car with Meguirs Gold Class shamppo on Wednesday then clayed it with PoorBoys medium clay bar. I cleaned it again after this then went over the whole car with Autoglym Super Resin polish by hand (really need to buy and orbital buffer). Then cleaned it again and sealed the paint with Autoglym Super Gloss protection. Today I cleaned it again and finally applied Meguirs Tech Wax NXT 2.0. Very pleased with the quality of the paint and no real swirl marks to note. I'll let the pictures do the talking:-
I have the car booked into a body shop in a few weeks to get these defects sorted out. I can't find any other damage/rust on the car.
Compliments the Westfield nicely and will make a nice tow car to transport the Westy around for track days.

If that really is the last one that's a proper bit of Blue Oval history... the last ever European executive class Ford!
Never been a great fan of their looks, but considering what every manufacturer produces these days they're actually comparatively not that bad!

I had one of these, but mine was a P reg back in 1999 i had mine, didn't really like the looks, but I think the end of production for the granada was a sad moment, having now owned in excess of 15 granada's and scorpios. I plan on keeping my granada forever as to me no other car is like it.

Sticking a badge on the back does not make it a Cosworth
It had some work done to the engine by Cosworth, it is not a Cosworth
Cosworth have worked on quite a few car engines over the years, fairly recenty
they worked on the B5 Audi RS4, is that a Cosworth, no.
The car above is a 2.9 24v Scorpio and was never badged as a Cosworth.
It had a small Cosworth badge on the Engine that is all.
People jump on the Cosworth bandwagon when ever they can, the old 190E Merc's is another prime candidate, they had engine work done and are known as Cosworth Merc's but they aren't Cosworths

you ought to f*ck off mate, people jump on the cosworth bandwagon, you tw*t. the bloke was just showing us what is thought to be the last scorpio. what fucks me off is people like you that are on here and think this site says passioncosworth.com, well it f*ckin don't it says passionford.com and for your information the granada and scorpio had work done on the engines and the suspension. but regardless, it still says cosworth on the engine so it is a cosworth. its ford that decided to not use the cosworth name because it was seen to be a luxury car not a high performance car, cosworth formula 1 cars are cosworth but there not running a 2.0 YB with a turbo you bloody pompass tw*t, the 2.9 24v had the whole engine reworked by cosworth, but the bottom end was seen to be strong enough, so they just slightly modified it and made cosworth quad cam heads for it. and besides, it still says FORD on the back the same as yours

In fact All those cars mentioned are as much of a cossie as the saph/escos. Cosworth didnt do anything other than engine work.
The only thing making the saph\3dr\escos any more of 'a cosworth' is the fact Ford farmed out the engine assembly to cosworth themselves, however cosworth also assembled many of the other engines you mention at wellingborough, including the engine in that Scorpio so please explain why the other cars ( badged cosworth are any less of a cosworth.

shush. take ur YB blinkers off. the 24v is more cosworth than the YB.
The escort cosworth YB is a pinto witha cosworth twin cam head and plenum essentially. with sierra xr4x4 running gear with differant hubs and bigger discs.
the boa/bob is a cologne 12v with cosworth twin cam heads, plenum managment etc. and the granada says cosworth on the back of it.

Hey look man, i'm sorry I had a bit of a rant at you, i'd just had a stupid argument with the misses and i think you got the brunt of it on here, yeah I agree you sierra an escort cossie owners know about your cars, an i know about granada's and scorpio's. looking back maybe I could have put it a little bit better. In some respects I have always been a bit pissed that ford didn't allow cosworth to do what they wanted to do with the granada, it was designed by cosworth to be 300bhp but ford didn't want that much an brought it down to around the 200bhp mark. but I think one day if you get the chance, jump in a decent granada cosworth and take it for a spin, there not quick off the line but when there rolling they do fly. and the cosworth ones handle rather well. good rear wheel drive fun. a rather underestimated car in my opinion.

Personally I wouldn't have stuck a Cosworth badge on the back as it isn't one, but each to their own
Log book says "Scorpio 24v Ultima Cosworth" so that's good enough for me.
