Building a 4b track-car,25/9/05 BIG update loads of pics....
Here's a few pics of the car I bought a couple of months ago from Paul at North Yorkshire RS Spares. I've added new wheels, brakes and a stage 3 setup since.
I've now decided, after doing a couple of track days and reading some threads on PassionFord.com that I want to turn this into a track car of my own. I'll bring a few updates shortly.....

Cheers Paul,
Well the spec will be as follows
200 Block long studded,7.2-1,pocketed pistons,high flow oil pump,oil cooler,cams,isky vavle springs,verniers,all done by A1 Rallysport.
AP cluch,Group A engine and gearbox mounts.
Gaz coil overs and all polly bushed.
Saftey Devices roll cage,5 point harnesses,Magnium Motor sport seats.
I will be running twin O44 fuel pumps and braided or cevlar fuel lines .
A T4 is also on order from JC Motorsport and several other bits.
I will also be running air injectors.
AP 4 pots on the front with 330mm rotas and AP twin pots on the rear with 300mm
vented rears with Braided brake lines right through.
RS 500 stile intercooler and alloy 50mm radiator from Rad Tec,these are designed
for road and track as i am still going to drive to the track and a couple of mettings in the future.
I hope to acheive a genuine 450-475 bhp track car as i was passed byJohn from JC Motorsport at Oulton park a couple of week back and i have not heard the last of it yet and he's not really a good driver...
So the challange is on,mind you John was only running 500+ ponnies and wearing
slicks at the time so it is understandable that he shood pass me even though it took him a couple laps to pass me.

Looks good.
If you're thinking about some track use on a regular basis, then a set of slicks is a worthy investment.

Cheers Richard i have been thicking about using slicks or road legal tyres, i believe they are the dogs.If my budjet lets me i will buy another set of wheels and run slicks.
There is a lot of things i still need to look at i.e. Gear box.I no that the gear box and maybe the diffs are a weak point when running big power,so i am looking for some ideas if anyone could help?.I no it will depend on how much money i can afford to spend. Is there a kit i can buy to strenthen the gearbox and diffs.
Well my old engine is coming out tomorrow,i hope, just 2 bolts holding it in place. Then i will get the engine cleaned and take a trip down to the A1 and start taking to steve about the best way i should go with the engine for the track.
I will post some more pictures later of all the bits i have now bought.

Been prepping Pauls "Interim" motor today(spare one we are throwing in to keep him mobile.... )
Low comp,long stud 200 block,hp oil pump,fully rebuilt by scotty at A1...
Some spare eh !!!!
Will put some pics up as i take the old one out and get the spare in...gonna have a break for a day or two to recover from my crash !!

The brakes on the car are only a couple of weeks old Rich so i am leaveing them on at the moment but AP rears are going on will 300mm disc.Cheers for the coments lads i have taken some more pics so will put them on later .

Just waiting for a few more bits.

Rear AP's,Radtec radiator 50mm and intercooler RS 500 style,Verniers,Mocal oil cooler,low comp engine,Hp oil pump,Isky valve springs.
My role cage is in transit and a few other bits.
I hope to do some more work on the car over the holiday
so i will keep the updates coming in and thanks for all your coments guys

Does anyone no were i can find the right socket to take the head of the engine pictured above it is long studded block so i need a special type of socket,plus the prosess of refitting is it the same as the standed settings.

Spent a few hours on new years eve prepping the spare motor to go in,got it all built up(4x4 sump and all ancilliaries,turbo etc)and ready to go in,we just gotta strip and clean the engine bay now and maybe paint it if it dont come up nice.....
Here`s some pics of the motor nearly complete,just the rocker cover,water pump,and couple of bits to go on....

it seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to,just to get WHOOPASSED by the foz

My new clutch come today and afew other bits.All i am waiting for is my GAZ suspension,water pump and roll cage which i now the cage isn't coming until the 18th of this month .
Well that gives me some time to spend doing the other mods i need to do.
My seat are cevlar carbon from magnum motorsport they will be coming in 2 weeks
i have got my 5 point harnesses,williams belts they are 3" wide.
My new temp gauges have come,bonet pins,alloy foot plate and pedals all by sparco.
Will be having another few hours tonight on her so i will post some more pics.
