Martoons RS500 4x4 rebuild, The black sheep!! Lol!
If you read my previous thread in GD you will already know that when I got married in 1991 we had 3 black RS500 wedding cars (one, my car was actually a 4x4 3dr) and like a fool I sold my car not long afterwards. Sadly that car was stolen some time after, leaving two cars remaining, then sadly one of them was badly crashed and was written off. This brings us to the last of the bunch E444 JAC, owned by a friend called Simon this car was damaged not long after the wedding and was reshelled using a brand new shell, Simon liked my old 4x4 3dr and decided that whilst being reshelled he would have his converted to 4x4 and painted Moonstone.
In the last 8 years the car has only done 1500 miles, Simon had several other cars and just didn't have time to drive it. Anyhow he called me a couple of years ago asking if I could sell it for him and because of its sentimentle value I have ended up buying it for myself.
Here's a couple of pics when it was black..
Now I just don't do Moonstone and the fact it used to be my favourite 3dr colour previously means there's only one option, strip it and return it back to black!!
How many alarms!

That's what I'm leaning towards for several reasons.. I don't really want to look after split rims, they are quite expensive and I have the TH's on the shelf
will be very nice once done,i would go for original wheels just like it was on your big special day.are you goin to put the old reg back on it if you can?

I have thought about using std wheels and am buying some just in case Yes the old reg will be going back on.
nice project, I personally think the 500s look best in moonstone, but it tends to be a marmite colour.
I assume the colour change was originally done as part of the reshell, does not look a bad job. lots of these project 500s coming out of the woodwork now, with the rise in prices of 500s it makes sense to go back to original colour, they seem to have become the number 1 car people promised themselves lately.
edited - just re-read the start where it says the paintwork was done at the same time - doh
