Cheers mate. She's better again! Took her out and gave her some death this eve. The new box with the quaife diff is lovely. Flies!
Just need to get the bottom coolant hose and a replacement charge carrier now. Thought i'd found a nice one from a forum member on here but turns out it doesn't have the mounting bracket No good. Sure I'll find another soon enough.
Think i'll call msd tomorrow and get myself on the cancellation list as 30th sept which i'm booked in for is a long way off.
Gave her a wash today

Good good, cant wait for a passenger ride in her....Be interesting to see what power she finally makes when MSD have finished with it.
Guess what Dan......... My sump doesn't fit, not even nearly. God knows what I'm going to do now.....

I know and I feel really sorry for you. Its not obvious whats wrong. I looked at it when I was over loz's. It can only be your oil pump which is fooking it up. Block length is what it is! Loz said the sump fitted the other block he had lying around so its not the sump at fault. What a bitch! Will get it sorted though, always does!
Can't wait to see what power she does either. Have a ride whenever you like mate, you know where I live. If the gates are open pop in (as long as its dry!) Have a drive if you want, must be having withdrawrals! Hey after the blat today guess what? Not a fluid leak of any description AT ALL not a drop mate. Its the dream! lol
Gave you a toot earlier, came through botley with loz on a rope in an old derv astra we picked up. Another project!

I may just take you up on that offer... Good news about the fluid situation after all that's happened, I didn't here you toot!
Hope its not the oil pump at fault, was a bitch to get a genuine one..

Have a look at the pics on here of my bottom end. should look exactly the same as yours (apart from I got a crankshaft sensor). I have a S1 crankshaft and therefore also have a S1 genuine oil pump. Yep was a bit of a bitch to find, you''re right! Print a pic of and study it, get over and compare and see whats gone wrong. What else can you do?

looking good now pal, she is a real credit to you mate one of the nicest rsts ive seen for a long long time!
really wouldnt have been wise to risk causing any engine damage by running it hard with the faults last time, could have so easily ended up badly if we had...
any way, now shes ready i will see what i can do for a cancellation booking, although we are closing for holidays soon.
im sure when she is set up and running full boost you will be more than happy mate!

Quick update on progress:
Managed to get the bolt which was threaded in the battery tray out and replaced so now have a secure battery
Hose clamped up my oil return pipe at block end and pipe end so she will now only leak when/if it splits lol
Eventually got a replacement charge carrier and fitted it
Replaced temporary radiator bottom hose with new samco one
Clipped all hose's/breathers up and generally tinkered about!
This is how the bays looking now. (on the way! Photo bucket's down)
Tomorrow is 30/09/09 which means I need to think about getting her loaded up and setting off for Blackpool (again). Have addressed everything on James's inspection sheet now so fingers crossed, as long as nothing new has broken she will get set up.

Got back from MSD around 8:30pm yesterday up and back in the day around 600 miles and 10hours on the road in the truck lol
Was it worth it? Yep, its working well now
Had a couple of anxious moments when they couldn't understand why it was over fueling after the map adjustments they were making and started looking along the lines of loom/ ecu thankfully my electrical skills i'd blessed the loom with hadn't let me down and the ecu was ok, it was just the fuel pressure which was out causing the hiccup. Phew.
So my advisories are:
Again, Ecu mounted in engine bay. Recommended to move inside the car. For the time being its staying as is.
Fuel pressure regulator in poor condition. Recommend replacement if ultimate reliability is required. It is. Trying to source replacement reg. today.
Fuel pipe from filter to rail is pulled tight. Recommend rectifying. I plan to get this pipe replaced with an aeroquip one as this was temporary.
Brake pedal has excessive travel. Recommend this is rectified. I'm still not crazy with my brake setup. Think I'll try bleeding the system again, see what the difference is then have a re-think.
Thats it. Happy enough with that.
My favourite line from James's report is below:
"The fueling and boost was checked under full load and adjusted as necessary. The vehicle is suitable for hard use at this time"
Thank fuck. Thats what I wanted to hear lol
I've decided to paint my wheels anthracite and treat them to some new decals and centres. Think she deserves a treat Crack on with this now.

Fitted a brand new weber (ford fit) fuel regulator today. Didn't pay Ł252+vat...Ł44+vat from local motor factors. Happy with that!
Had a delivery from Compomotive today. New wheel decals and centres.
Wheels are coming off tomorrow and being painted monday/ tuesday.
While the wheels are off I'm going to repaint the calipers either black or silver and replace the track rod ends and bottom ball joints. NSF track rod is showing some play so I'm not messing about and will do the lot why she's ready.

Took her out for an early morning blast today with sub 20 degree acts. Only saw 26 on the motorway. Good enough.
Got back and got it up on stands and grabbed the wheels off ready to paint tomorrow.
Mrs and kids gone out to m&s so thought I'd whip the ball joints off.
Will order up the replacement parts tomorrow but at least she's half way there!
Got these beauties to fit too...should be fun! Lozzzzzzer! lol

Fitted the track rod ends and lower arms today.
Wheels are in primer
Went over to Pritek and got them to make me up a braided hose to go between the fuel filter and fuel rail.
I want to re-routed it up the wing, across the bulkhead and behind the inlet to the rail. Think this would look a bit neater.
Problem is now, it gets me thinking about the other lines I could have braided

Got the wheels back today. Colour is Suzuki Gris Anthracite 161 with semi matt laquer.
Not got any shots of them on the car yet as its still on stands as i'm still tinkering.
They're growing on me. Put the new decals on. Think they're going to transform the look of the car and make it look angry lol If I don't like them i'll just get them painted white again
