It lives! Engine went back in last saturday, the 14th Nov 2015. Exactly 3 years and 1 day since she blew up! it was ready to go in on friday, exactly 3 years, but it was friday the 13th so I thought fuck that!!!!
I mot'd it earlier this week it passed with no advisories!!
I bought a mocal oil cooler kit. Not too sure where i'm going to fit that yet, for now its just cable tied in the bay while I have a think and search for some inspiration.
I fitted a new steering rack yesterday as the old one had some play in it and i'd never changed it so thought i'd treat it
Then the wipers started playing up, most probably the mechanism seized where its been sat for the past 3 years! They went slow and kept popping the 20amp fuse, as I investigated I think I broke them properly being heavy handed so now I'm looking for a replacement linkage.
Will get that sorted, get my ear defenders on and get some miles in her before booking in some tuning time.
Cheers

Yeah mate. Hows things, still doing plenty of trackage>?
I've had some time off but 2 grand later and i'm back on it
Can't wait to go back on track but if I wreck it again i swear i'm going to smash it to bits!
The smell, noise, boost! Love it

Small update.
Fitted another new starter and battery so it starts on the button again.
I sorted the wiper issue and fitted some new blades. i fitted the new motor and mech and it made no difference, i could have worked this out before sourcing a replacement part really but had convinced myself the mech was at fault. Anyway, after spending an hour or so investigating the wiring to no avail I began looking at the wiper switch on the column and found that to be the cause. A mate gave me a spare from a cab which has the rear wash wipe delete which suits me as I no longer have one and that sorted it.
I took delivery of some new toyo T1R's as the fronts for my road wheels were done and i need to do running in miles. I stuck with 215/40/17's (205/40/17 on the rear).
I got the tyres on and tracked up after fitting the new rack.
Then did 200 miles over the weekend. It drove well on minimum boost and not exceeding 3.5k rev's but its so noisy. Ear plugs for the rest of the running in miles!
Decided to replace the front indicators and have a change over to ambers. Also painted the headlights as after 3 years of being sat they had started to get some corrosion on the frames.
Lights out
Painted up
Installed
The bay today! Still need to fit my bonnet struts but getting used to using the broom handle!
Need to do an oil change now and book in some tuning time for the new year. Happy enough with how its coming along at the moment.
Cheers
