Yes oil and grease will soak into the pads, you can try rubbing them down a bit and giving them a good squirt with some brake cleaner, but I doubt it will make much difference. If it were me I would be replacing them!

As for the discs, whip them off again and check they are sitting completely flat on the hub. If they are and it does turn out that they are warped, a machine shop should be able to resurface them if there is enough meat left on them.

The car looks great shame about the brakes hope that can be resolved.

Out of interest I've always had a vibration on my Zetec S doesn't seem to be wheel balance either as I've had several sets. Some days it can be fine others it can seem really bad (like today!)

Well I spoke to the previous owner and he said he can no issues with them at all, and wouldn't sell brakes if they thought they were dodgy, so I trust that. He said they only have about 1000 miles on them so I'll just clean them up a bit and see if driving on them for a while makes any difference if the pads and discs have got swapped around when I put them on and they have to re-bed in.

After much persuasion I've now de-badged the rear. Makes polishing alot easier!

Love it, car has been getting looks left right and centre, very happy with the choice of wheels

I put an update above your post? lol

Not got any new pics as nothing has changed. Got so many ideas running through my head but it's a matter of what comes first. I fancy some engine bling and maybe some performance mods but nothing drastic.

Possible idea: I haven't got one myself but I've seen some peoples Zetec S's with different rear wiper blades on, gives it a smooth look something I've always meant to do but not got round to.

I've been told it's the new shape Astra Wiper that people put on these, I'll have to enquire into it as I agree a flat blade wiper would improve looks. I also got some front Aero Blades through the door this morning

Not looked at this for a while, but those wheels suit a treat, and some great photography going on with it.

The ride height looks far better now the wheels fill the arches out properly, though it is perhaps still a touch too low for my tastes.

ST skirts and some colour coding would make it look even better

For the engine, Blue Roose MotorSport hoses, Air filter with a hardpipe kit to bring it across the bay to an area it'll actually get cold air, and an exhaust. My mate has a Miltek Manifold and De-cat but it comes with a gash twin exit backbox so need to source a backbox for it, but don't want to pay Ł350 Miltek prices. Would be nice to keep the full system but not too fussed if it's not. Only want a subtle 3" rolled inwards or something similar. Hopefully it won't be too loud or it'll be going.

Interior I want to get the half leather, probably blue to suit the engine bay/Ford badge and stickers on the comps. Would prefer black to stay neutral but like rocking horse shit. Then maybe get ZS stitched into the seats instead of ST, subtle touch.

I am going to get a front strut brace too, maybe a rear ARB. It handles well as it is, but it can always be better

Colour coding all round, ST skirts are being bought from the same mate with the Miltek exhaust so that'll all be done at the same time to keep costs down.

As I say I have all these things I want to do but don't just wanna splash my whole pay packet on the car so taking my time, as much as I'm itching to get bits done.

Going to be at FITP this Sunday, but only in a car park as I was too late to get on any stands. Unless anybody with a stand wants to shove me on the end, be much appreciated

Completely, that sums up my style of modifying really. This is the most in your face modifying I have done tbh (although that's only out of 3 cars so not saying much).

I do want an ST Rear Beam to get rid of the drums. They spoil it I think. All in good time.

What offset and width are your comps. Sit very well in deed. I wanted 16s on mine but findind wheels with brake clearance is proving an issue at mo

This is where it gets a bit complicated as I'm not 100% with Offsets lol.

They are 7J and ET35. On the fronts my mate machined the hub back 5mm so that makes them ET40 doesn't it? On the rears he machined 3mm so that makes them ET38? Am I right?

I wish I had brakes that were a tight fit, these wheels deserve them, but mega money...

Thats right - the further 'in' the wheel sits into the arch, the higher the offset is. Thats why it looks silly putting escos wheels on one imo, as theire offset is et20 or something similar, so it makes them stick out!

have a look here

Not done much to her for a while, contemplating selling up for something with a bit more poke. But in the mean time my local club were having a Rolling Road Day so I ran it for a laugh, with pleasant results

They said the car is running spot on (but then it should do for a new car really) and it's making more power than standard.

They are 100bhp and 108 ft/lb torque standard, so can't complain at that. And before people start debating about dodgy rollers, they are well known as one of the best around, plus some other cars under read what the owners were expecting or had got on other rollers so it wasn't over reading every car like on some RR days.

Not much happened lately, still don't know whether to keep it or not, but that's something I'll think about, but for that reason I'm a bit reluctant to make any major changes atm incase I decide to sell for something with more power.

Only a couple of things, new rolling pic, will do for now:

Bought these parts from my mate:

Gonna get a different backbox though as I don't like that one. I want a 2.5" outward rolled ideally but think I'm gonna end up going to an exhaust place anyway as everyone with a Miltek backbox is wanting silly money.

Polishing session....then it rained
