2.1 zvh ka reshell
afternoon all,
thought i'd start a thread on this while im off work.
some of you may or may not remember my 1800 zvh that was featured in fast ford a couple of months back, well it had a bit of an issue and the old lump gave up, the plan was to build a 2.1 zvh for it and leave the mojority of the car as it was, untill i started finding bits for sale and spending money, then came across an engine too and couldnt resist, heres the car in its previous state
and this is how it currently is and has been since the middle of december
i was offered a ready built but never run 2.1 zvh which my mate had built for his ka, but never got round to finishing it, was happy to pay what he wanted for the engine but he basically couldnt be arsed to take it out of the car, so for an extra couple of hundred quid i also had the rolling shell with rear disks, solid rear gearbox mount, gearbox with st150 ratio's, electric pas setup, new 3" exhaust and downpipe, etc etc, it is pretty much a bare rolling shell and it desperatley needs a crossmember as half of it has been cut off, but its a 52 plate which he has had from new and its covered very little mileage, the shell is imaculate all over, gary was good enough to bring the shell to me last weekend so here are a few pics from then.
everything is being swapped over from the old shell into the new 1, it will look identical just on a 52 plate and with some better bits on it, here are some of the other parts ready for it so far
new engine spec is as follows
7.9:1 cr
stage 3 burton power big valve head
kent cvh 35 cam kit
kent vernier pulley
uprated valve springs
silver top 2.0 zetec bottom end, bored out to 2.1
Je pistons (specc'd by gordon @ street racers)
farndon h section rods
arp rod bolts used throughout engine
heavy duty bearings throughout
toal seal piston rings
focus rs head gasket (cvh head modifed for this to fit)
new oil pump
new oil spray jets
fully lightened and balanced bottom end
area six spec'd helix 4 paddle clutch
t34 turbo
gotech mfi pro management
apexi boost controller
3" exhaust system
waiting for my mate to move my other silver 1 into the garage for me at the moment so i can start swapping bits over, i'll try and remember to update this.
the red thing you can see sitting in the back of the garage is my other ka also waiting to be finished
cant be arsed with finishing that yet though.
