ok folks , bit overdue , but here we are as of today !!

as in the last update the turrets were fitted and welded , k then fully welded them in and out , then added a 1 inch wide strip of 2mm to be able to get a good strong stich weld to the turret

then primerd up ,






topmount then fitted , k slotted the holes



and offerd one of his shocks in to see what clearance we had



plenty lol , and there leada 50mm bodies



not adjusted up or anything



and with the wheel centerd in the arch , how the shock sits , rember it not adjusted , and mine will prob be slightly shorter



wheel to tyre clearance - obv showck just floating atm







so with them done , k got on with filling the hole in the bulkhead where the fuesbox used to live





and clearance for the bonnet hinge



car was looking rather , busy lol



so a good tidy out



then me and k go on with finishing the internal sealer work , and doing the turrets





k knocked back the weld that was in pic below , were the tub had been widend , we decided to add a thin line of sealer to give a more finished look ,



as you can c its very thin




inside of the bulkhead was brush sealed , not a 100% happy with the finish as it was brushed on rather than gunned and smoothed , but its got to get a coat or two oh primer , then paint ect so im sure it will be fine

k started on the bay prep ,

and hes got the fucking plasma out again !!




theres a 2mm thick ring being laser cut and will be on its way this week to go on top ,

with that done , it was time to get it on the spit !!!!





can really see how fucking big the tubs are now lol




and i started working out where needs to be sealed before stonechip






ohh and recived a pic from mark @ mk , cradles all done so ill be heading down there tomorrow to collect !!!

not sure on the brand dave , just a tube style , ill check tomorrow

i genrally leave it five min or so but never let it go off so to speak , always get it off eairly ,

ive found smoothing it with a stubby firm brush helps spread it , and then i dip the brush in thinners , flick off the excess off brush and lighly go bk over the sealer , this reallys seems ot give a smooth level finish ,


yeah getting there mate , cradel to go in over weekend , sealer and stonechip , cpl seat mounts, then paint the underside ,

nothing flash mate , basic tube sealer for the joints as said , and just gravitex on the underside , no need for fucking expensive 3m stuff , all does the same job imo

gaz has been nothing but helpful since the moment i contacted him , talked me thru options before i even said yes , explained his ideas for the car , sent me tons of pics , has told me hes willing to drive down on his own time and go thru the car with me ect ect ,


gave me a rough 2 week timescale to do the work !! as long as i gave him a 2 week notice , put up with endless pms regrding paint ect ect ,

and his gave me a really competitive price


and judging from the rave reviews hes got on escortrscosworth id deffo say hes the best bloke for paint in the north east

so much so ive recommended him to a cpl mates and know a few mates who will be using him !

I must test the brush technique, I've been using liquid soap for smoothing out sealants for a long time and this works really well too, just need to keep soap on your fingers or you'll get stuck LOL!
