Looks interesting mate, what else are you doing to the car (Brakes/suspension)?
Is it going to be road legal or is it just for track days?
How come Ian has used a duratec throttle body for a zetec engine? I'm sure it doesn't matter but i'm just curious as I was thinking about getting the 67mm duratec body for my engine!!

hi mate , yes it is going to be road legal . i think it will end up on a Q plate and going through sva etc. i will be using this to go to work etc but mainly for track days hopefully if it dont break every minute.
ian only built the engine and the inlet but it was my choice to use the cosworth throttle body, ian told me bad things about the focus central throttle body saying it just fell to bits. the cosworth throttle body is a good piece of engineering at a reasonable price. plus its 67mm which is a good size for the power we where after from this engine.
as for the brakes and suspension, well hopefully this!
hi spec monster 4 pots at the fronts
hi spec 2wd cossie 4 pots at the rear
gaz custom built coilovers with remote reservoirs to fit escort cossie hubs and mk6 fiesta strut tops (as i dont want to cut the new bodyshell up unless i have to!)
alloy eccentric top mounts all round
god no wonder its going to take so long i think ive just spent about 4 grand writing this out, i better tell the missus were not going on holiday this year yeh!

Hello Paul,
We've never met but I remember seeing Ian building your engine a few years back and I'm pretty sure you built my loom/saw mine in his garage in pieces! Have been out of the game for two years but, after my new house is built, should be getting it back together for some fun (I never actually got it on the track after the PF cover shoot!).
Anyway, looks good, where did you get the shell from? How much? PM me if you dont want to say on forum. I did think about going 4x4 but I thought I should actually use it before I do anything else! Are people still disbelieving the figures?! Two years off and nothing changes!!
Dave

hi dave glad to hear your coming back , its a shame when you never see a cracking car like yours knocking about, just like my old one really but i gave it fuckin hell on the roads (the missus only came init once cause she said i drove it like i was pocessed) and that didnt even make a magazine car ,but get yours done mate and maybe one day we can race !
got the bodyshell direct from tch ford in derby to anywhere in the uk delivery all in for £1250 inc vat .this was more expensive because i wanted it without the sunroof beleive it or not. it also came with the front wings which wasnt on the ford drawing on the computer so i got a extra £140 of front wings so i will be selling them on if anyone wants them?
bodyshell is fully primed and ready to be painted.
no one can really argue with the figures thats why i posted them on here, these figures are corrected power figures and the dyno day was by ahmed bayoo (mapping) and harvey gibbs (dyno operator) got to be the two best ford tuners in the game. also got the dyno day on dvd so when ian gives it me back i maybe will post it on here but the fuckin battery ran out at 480bhp but you could cross ref with the dyno sheet to see what boost and power we was running at the time etc, maybe just maybe!
hope this has helped mate and nice to hear from you, paul

if you want a bodyshell order very quick as ford sell them off as soon as a new model fiesta comes out which is now.
i know it can be hard to move on but there so much better built than the old cars so cut your loses and sell it on if you want a new bodyshell etc.

some more pics of the bodyshell
hi here are some more pics of the bodyshell taken 2 day at alloy racing fabrications. i asked jim to cut out the old a pillar bracing and asked him to replace it with a full lenght one . the bodyshell has now been fully seam welded and the apertures have also been done. the only thing to do now is the rear boxing on the cross and on the door bars, but hes only tacked the door bar in so he can take it off so its easier to climb in and out.
me and jim have decided to let him catch up on the work hes got to do as this car has alot of work involved with the conversion, so the bodyshell will have no work done to it until the start of april.(at least its in storage and gives me more time to save). mean while i will be building the exhaust and inlet manifolds so that will keep me busy!
hope you like the pics , cheers for looking

its going to be track car and 1/4 mile plus top speed maybe looking for 200mph but we all know how hard it is to get there, i will defo need more power if we are after that, maybe nitrous .amhed reckoned the engine would be good for 600bhp+ as i was only running the 4 injectors (which was maxing out)but was still making good hp gains for every pound of boost added. look at the graph 29 psi @ 7000rpm = 484 bhp and at 30 psi @ 7000rpm = 522.5 bhp with dyno cell air temp at 31`c , so maybe theres more to give but ian says we defo need to look at the headgasket and bolts if we are gonna run more boost!
cheers for the comments mate
