looking good paul,

see you went for the mdv panels in the end, so much easier than bonding on just an arch and with the actual arch part on the mdv quarter being kevlar there strong as fook but you will need a steel liner to brace the rest of the panel otherwise they will be fooked in 5 mins,

I was in the workshop the other day ordering my fuel tanks. This really is a nice piece of work. I hear the cage is coming out to tub the rear end? It'll be the nuts when done. Who'll be first to finish you or Marc ?

lol tell me about it my engine will stand me at round the £12500 mark when ive brought the dry sump system then theres the dyno again. i aint got fuck all for mine , no suspension , rear upright etc so there lots of cash to still spend. i was thinking of getting some custom shocks built by nitron as they have a design your own or maybe the new 3 way avos as they seem to be priced well.

cheers paul

Sounds like its coming along nicely mate

Are you going with Pace or Titan? I would use Pace TBH

When you get the dry sump get Pace to make you a custom pump for your application as it will need to draw more to keep a vacum in the crankcase as its a high boosted motor and will breath heavily, I know a couple of people who made the mistake of getting the standard pump for a nasp and now need to change it

Also ask about the rear filter attachment on the back of the pump as this cuts down on piping and looks alot cleaner IMO

hi mate , funny enough i spoke to jim today and asked how the cars coming on as we have agreed to have this part of the car done for the end of feb. he said he had the car on its side so yes theres work being done yeh!!!
there was lots of work to do before he can start the next part of the build which is the rear and front subframes etc.
heres the list i can think of :-

cut front turrets and mount rings for top mounts
sill mounts front and rear
exhaust tunnels both sides for side exit exhausts
box sections on both door bars , rear cross
fully weld underside of car
cut the rear of cage out and turrets and boot floor
fabricate wheel tubs , suspension turrets, top mount plates
rise the boot floor and plate
weld rear of rollcage back in with pickups for subframe

so hes going to be busy lol
i will update as soon as

cheers paul

also recieved my 4 injectors from ian , ian did some maths and worked out that 450cc injectors would be fine for the bhp we require for the 600bhp mark (not forgetting the 650cc aswell ). sent some stuff back to jenvey to get machined as i want everything o ringed for maxium sealing , and also upgrading to the 70mm diffuser which was in testing when i brought mine so they said just send it back and they will swap it. i will update when i have some pics

cheers paul

well its been a while now and its time for a update , even though its not a massive one saying that the cars finished lol , i think you lads realise where the moneys being spent.
right lets start with the dreaded bodyshell

after much headscratching i wanted to run upto 10" rear wheels on the back end and they simply was no room so the rear half of the cage was chopped out so we could start the fabrication of the rear tubs
bye , bye rear cage

next was making the rear tubs , jim fully tig welded these as he want them to look there best and i must say that the quality is top notch

notice the side panel has been plated aswell

next was the turret towers fabricated out of 4mm thick pipe for strenght and also the swaged lines added to the tubs , infill panels and also billet machined rings for the top mounts to sit on also with a machined lip so it sits inside the turret tower so it can be stitched on the inside and fully tigs on the outside

billet machined ring fully tig welded and how good does that look , iam well please

genuine wrc 2 piece top mount , by the way iam having some made so if anyone is interested then give me a shout

both stat nicely tacked in place ready for welding and theres also been a raise boot floor to give us more clearance for the drive shafts and diff.

next was the side exit exhaust tunnels and sill stands. the exhaust tunnels are by the rear quaters

next was changing the engine mounts as andrew g gave me some sound advice saying they where too long , so wrc style bracket are added to give a short engine mount

next was finishing the floors ie stitch welding etc , notice the exhaust tunnel built into the passenger floor which has also been raised buy 3" to allow the massive silencers to be fitted for the side exit exhausts. the floor is very neat and everything is coming along nicely.

notice the different floor levels

the rear chassis legs have been cut off since the picture to accomodate the rear tubs

also having rollcage tophats machined for the rollcage tub male and female for the rear cradle pickups

next is back onto the engine side , i decided to paint my jenvet inlet , i wasnt sure wheather to do it or not but i though fuck it and sprayed it crackled black and iam really happy how its turned out. fuel rails are welded on , a -4 jic fitting for the vacuum block takeoff , air temp sensor drilled and tapped. i will take some more pics tomoz

next was the pace stage 3 twin scavenge dry sump system with water pump kit. kindly got by a shit hot member but he doesnt want his name mentioned , so many thanks to him and you know who you are.

nice piece of kit soon to be fitted. i was also taking to ian about cams so these will be ordered shortly and the engine will be shipped over to ian for final inspection before it goes back on the dyno.

next on the list

cams
alloy engine pulleys
machined alloy adaptor from inlet to throttle body
jic fitting to be welded on cam cover
billet thermostat housing
finish the exhaust manifold off

if theres anymore updates you lads will be the first to know

cheers paul
