WELL BAD NEWS TODAY! the t4 divided flange came in the post this week and ive only gone and made my 2-1 collectors the wrong way round and tacked it all up, so what i thought would be a nearly finished manifold turned out to be junk! well to say iam pissed off is an understatement. so i thought fuck it i'll go and spend another £400 on some proper 2-1 merge collectors and some more mandrel bends etc , so iam now in the process of making version mkII so watch this space and see if i can build it right this time, right going down to the shed with my head hung very low in shame

WELL BEEN BUSY ALL WEEK MAKING MY NEW MANIFOLD . I LIKE THIS ONE BETTER THAN THE LAST ONE BUT GONE DOWN A SIZE TO 1"5/8 AS THE LAST ONE WERE 1" 3/4 BUT I WAS TOLD THEY WERE 1"5/8. GOT ALL MY PARTS FROM OJZ ENGINEERING AND LET ME TELL YOU THIS GUY CAN NOT ONLY SUPPLY GOOD BITS BUT WHEN I COLLECTED MY PARTS HE HAD A TERRALL RACE CARS IN THERE AND HIS EXHAUST ARE THE DOGS BOLLOCKS BUT VERY EXPENSIVE AND IS ALSO HELPFUL, BONUS!
ANYWAY ALL TACKED UP AND READY TO BE WELDED
HERES SOME PICS, AND HOPE YOU LIKE

Some really nice parts in this build, gonna be a weapon.
I have a question about the exhaust though, the metal looks thin.....too thin, especially the 2-1 collectors.
Any gen?

hi mate i have always used 1.5 mm thick 304 stainless and have never had any problems to be honest . my first manifold that i made was used on the engine dyno and was running a good 4-5 hours non stop during mapping with lots of full boost runs 30 psi. that never cracked or had any issues . there is a picture of my first manifold.

and that had a t61 turbo hanging off it which aint the lightest turbo ive ever pick up , oh i forgot it had one of harvey special welding rods to brace it on the dyno ha ha

hi mate that is the top side but the front plate is fully universal so you can have it top mounted left or right or change the back plate so it at the bottom and you can again change the deffuser left or right , fookin brill bit of kit

Thanks for the reply dude.
I'm still a bit.....not convinced, lol. I have a mani for my build from 1.5mm and i'm debating wether or not to put it on as i can't be arsed having to strip it down again after a few hundred mile because of it cracking. I suppose its the supporting that makes the differance and i only have a 35r to hang off it..... decision decisions.

im with you on this one i think in a car on the road it will crack !! the engine moves about a bit hard launches gear changes ect ect

hi mate i personally think that if anything was gonna happen it would happen on the dyno that why we run the big bhp engine to make sure every component of the build is ok , but it did certainly get hot thats for sure but 321 stainless at a cost of £80 a metre to 304 which is £10 a metre then i will take that risk. the manifold is not totally finished yet and will have strenghting tags and bracing as well as the turbo hanger so hopfully there wont be that much stress on the manifold
cheers paul

p.s i think the only person i know that uses anything with a thicker walled pipe is nortech and your looking at least £1000+ , 3mm i think
