Hello Herfli

Most people take the easy option and take the floor from a 4x4 Sierra and weld it into the Mk3 Escort shell.

You can then use the Sierra engine / gearbox and suspension to get your 4x4 AWD

Can I use the zetec engine, which is ~ 170 BHP now, and it was a lot of money... and i love it!! If we rotate the engine to longitudal mode and we make an other custom exhaust system? The Sierra 4x4 gearbox fit to the Zetec (Silver Top) engine?

We have an other idea... just some words: Audi 80 Quattro gearbox, sierra RWD rear axle, Lancia Delta HF Integrale drivetrain... but the idea of you is take it easy.

originaly it is the 130 bhp engine, and for example i have compression 19 so i spent a lot of money.

engine:
custom verner pulleys (not in the photo),
ported, polished head (5mm+),
ported, polished inlet manifold, custom exhaust and inlet cam,
mondeo throttle body,
mondeo 2.0 injectors,
1.5mm- from the head under,
custom exhaust system,
etc... fully rebuilt.

for example:
mitsu oil cooler, s1 rs turbo sperr, the brake system fornt rs2000, rear xr3i (front disc), hydraulic handbrake, etc...

You can use your engine and turn it round - they are used like that in some kit cars (Caterham's etc) But it would only be RWD

The bell housing for the gearbox only fits a RWD gearbox as no output to front wheels is needed on kit cars.

4x4 Sierra is easiest way to start

http://www.filkornauto.com/sport.htm
It is a hungarian Ford Service and Rally Team...
They have an mk3 Escort 4x4, and not the sierra 4x4 drivetrain i think.
Its is a 2.0 Zetec Turbo, with cross mounting engine, but still AWD...

As said RS2000 4x4

yeah i know... my friend can weld an dohc (sierra 4x4) crankcase to the zetec, so it can be solvable...
so i think i rotate the zetec, i put under the dohc crankcase and a complette sierra 4x4 drivetrain, gearbox, etc...
now, i've got offer an sierra 4x4. so i can buy the sierra 4x4 now 'bout 200-300 USD (conversion of HUF).

if you are looking for rwd? the t9 gearbox from a sierra saphire 1.8cvh should bolt up to your zetec, you could probably use alot of those parts, axles, gearbox tunnel etc.not too sure how much abuse it will take before i was thinking of a similar conversion to my mk4 rs turbo.. you could still keep the engine non turbo and it would still be pretty quick. if you want turbo.. well i`d personally lower the cr myself, but there is so many options/opinions of tuning for the zetec. i`d like to see the progress if you find a way to do it
good luck with it

why would you need AWD at ONLY 170bhp??

nothing wrong with RWD! and a LOT easier!

and it only being a small engine i doubt it has enough torque to NEED AWD, unless its gonna be raced off-road loads i dont see the point on the extra expense?

nice looking conversion you have there i agree i think rwd would be alot easier.... what gearbox is it you are using in your capri to bolt up to the zetec just out of curiosity?

if i put the dellorto's, how to do the ignition... because ignition needs computer, and modul... the injector is much easier, i think, but i want put in the carbs...

the car is now injector, and go fast... but i want to change it to carb...
