Default Kevlar re-inforcement

Needed some kevlar reinforcement for hig stress areas for my carbon projects in progressing with.

Found a load of kevlar and got it for free!!



Guess where i got it??

I'll have another 6 sq feet when i pull apart the front armour insert

I wonder how much they charge per sq m for kevlar woven fabric??

jay simple tip to get this kevlar cheap:

1) join the armed forces
2) go on ebay and look for British Army kevlar vests. Also called combat body armour lieghtweight, then cut up the vest and destitch the kevlar panels Anything from £10 - £50. Just make sure it states it has the kevlar filler in it or ask questions. Here is a typical example: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/British-Body-A...1%7C240%3A1318


Obviously no good if you want huge pieces but the back plate is more than big enough for most home DIY stuff. You could always overlap it too for most DIY uses. The newer CBA kevlar is better as you get more layers and hence more sqm of fabric but you cant tell as many people when they got the new body armour covers were not issued new kevlar so transferred old to new covers. The osprey armour is much better but not on market much and expensive due to collectors wanting it.

i keep hearing in the news that our lads dont have proper protective gear out in irag etc and its because your nicking all the linings for your carbon fettish!! wait untill the queen hears about this! haha
