Default 1990 Escort Rs turbo

thought id start my s2 resto

hers she is when i got her

and when i got the white bonnet

and my alloys.

and heres some pics of what ive done so far i just dont have the time the now.mainly because of my job and impending wedding,

ive taken the loom out and found 2 alarms and immobolizers and about twice the wiring there should be

after that i thought id take the head off and see whats cooking in the engine and i found this had happened to say i was pished off is an understatement

reckon its been a poor rebuild i only done about 60 miles in it with no boost at all. so i dicided id get new brakes and got on the fone to Oldskoolfordsrule and got my self a cossie set up for my car

so a big thanks to him. apart from that i aint been doing much else to it just been to busy working and now ive found that my turbo is fucked so its rebuild time. just need to decide the route im going to go with it

its a 1.6 cvh and its running 184 bhp. Im wanting to go for 250 at the fly but need to look in to it more and im going to change to efi. I was checking the zetec conversion but its too expensive and the 1.6 cvh is getting good power.

probs stick to mfi then, more than 220bhp in a front wheel drive is a nightmare unless you spend more money on being able to put power down. cheers for the advice mate.

Done a bit more to her Ditching the efi idea just going to stick to mfi

well i took the roof cloth out and the windows i cracked the windscreen but it was fooked lokking at getting a few carbon body parts and getting the new panel list started. Im going for a carbon fibre boot and bonnet and plastic windows looking to shed weight so im not putting the sound deadning back in.

well here what i found when the head cloth came out it was starting to sag and now i know why i wish i just left it on lol!!

then i got the rest of the kit of somecunt welded the inner wing and left the kit on and melted it.

Also Found A bit of Rust on the window frames but on the whole i expected worse now i need to get the running gear off and the block out and get her welded and painted.

This Is How Shes looking now

Have you not thought about re-shelling with the blue escort in the background? Would be cheaper cost wise, all it would need is a re-spray, coz by the time you've bought all your panels and repaired other areas the cost would obviously be greater. That is if the blue escort is yours!!!!
