yeah i have one of those, but tev blew my grinder up today wanting to have a go, so ive done what you see with the drill ones and will proberbly continue using them as i have a few and carnt be arsed to buy a new grinder lol

fuk that belongs to a vauxhall owner lol, gona be buying one tomorrow now though

most of the bottom part of the floor is done, well all the sealent of anyhow, so top half next then the back half, should all be done by the wnd of the week, then i can start prepping it for paint

you have to as thats where the skyline transfer case sits, the gearbox will have a custom cradle and id imagine will bolt to the flat part of the floor like reylands escort

right after almost 2 long weeks ive managed to get the underside to a state where im happy with it, i am never doing this again, its messy, boring and it was bloody cold lol

after 2 grinders and a lot of wire wheels its looking like this

found a whole in the chassis leg, was rotting inside out so this was repaired, just need to finish cleaning it up

next is to try and get some replacement jacking points as mine have been crushed beyond repair then it will be ready to get some paint on it

another little update, got the underside in etched primer, then sealed it up ready for a couple of coates of high build primer, then it will be stone chipped and painted and laquered

sealent on

then brusable seam sealent to make sure any water doesnt get between the seams

time for an update

after the sealent was on i then high build primered it with just over a litre of primer

then i wanted to try and get a thick sealent around the seams so i used 9 bags of this at £10.60 a bag and had to buy a special gun aswell but its what i wanted

to show how thick it is

i then used a decent stonechip, its had 9 bottles of stonechip aswell

then it was painted with 6 coats of laquer just to make sure it was sealed

reason i didnt repair them was becuase i couldnt find any decent ones to replace them with as most have been crushed, and didnt want to try and make new ones as i dont have the tooligng to do so

i never jack upfrom there anyhow as there not designed for jacks hence they get crushed, there only designed for sierra jacks but obviuosly escort jack is different

dont get me wrong i did want to replace them

hi mine was the same ,i cut them off knocked them out then welded them back on with strenghing plates on the inside cant tell they have been done

another little update

the car is now ready for paint, ive put al doors on, spoilers, bumpers etc and got everythng ready for the paint shop

for some reason my back bumper has done this on one side

but still bolts up, but ill let the bodyshop take a look at it

also for a while i wanted to have my bonnet louvred ever since seeing a few escorts with it done, but couldnt find a company near me so had it done at cool louvres, so my mate went down for me and got my bonnet done for me as i couldnt go and im very happy with the result as its just what i wanted

i also managed to get some twon headlights after searching for 6 months i got these which ive modified for air ducts, bullet supplied me the ducts which are the same as he uses and are perfect for what i want

so imade some small brackets up for them to fit, these just need to be elded onto the ducts now in position then will be powdercoated and i can also run back to inner lights aswell if need be

so now its ready for paint, hoping end of the month it will be going to will update as soon as it does
