Saff cossie #4 , *brakes and exhaust to meet 101db*
After breaking my black 2wd to build a yb escort, then changing my mind to put it in a capri as a cheap project (while saving for an escort), I've some how managed to end end with yet another saff???
The escos is still my goal, but as this came up cheap and my capri was getting more expensive and more rusty/bodged the deeper I dug.The decision was made and two days later it was in my garage(again after jase hiding it from his mrs in there for 3mths).
Its worked out well tbh and it should be a better spec than my old saff for less money. no brainer really.
Car bought off of jasesapphy -> https://passionford.com/forum/restorations-rebuilds-and-projects/242146-work-has-proper-started-on-the-new-sapph-update.html
The deadline is to get it done to drive at bedford autodrome rs day on 21/2/09, but if we get cracking my try for donno on the 29th dec.
No pics yet as Dan came round to help last night and we battled on until midnight, not stopping for photo moments.
But so far;-
Old botom end out( car came with the head off)
gearbox out
old polished tanks out (de-bufty begins)
new cts big tooth box in
my engine in (205 blottom end L and B, 7.8:1, valve cutouts, ap 6 paddle, P and P head, bd 14 inlet, double vavle springs, greys , t34.63 maram 247 shaft, live mapped by msd with als/lc)
pics shortly.

Update time
Thanks to dans help the engine and box are fully fitted, just need to fit the loom and fluids before starting her up.
Header tank will be painted matt black, tho I do like the finish its sporting now.
This was how the old loom was fed power, not sure how it never caught a blaze.
Not even any insulating tape ffs.

I'm actually scared that people do this to wiring in general let alone on cars and let alone on fucking performance cars! !!
Coming along now, I'm pleased with Saturday's work considering we were 100% hungover!
Car is coming along nicely, won't be long now IMO, a little bit of spending to do Loader and we're sorted!

A few more bits got done yesterday, more bufty type stuff as dan was working off another hangover in my garage AGAIN.
Starter motor, black rear shelf, stereo, secs monitor and my gauges all where fitted.
I hate this rs wheel, but I'm waiting on a boss kit to fit my momo one.
While I was tinkering with the cockpit, dan was cracking on with this little lot.
Tah Dah.......................
Dan is invaluble when it comes to paint ect. as anyone who knew his saff can vouch for. Cant wait to see what he can do with the very dirty, faded, textured paint work.
cheers flower.
A bit to std for me
Much better, my marmite Enkei's just waiting on some wheel nuts to put the other two on.
Bumpers need paint, so no. plate fixing points can go bye bye while we're there.

Next up ,
Fit engine, rad fans and fuel pump looms
Fill with engine/Gearbox oil/ coolant
Fix dodgy wiring(when we find it) which is prob gonna stop it from starting
Let Dan lose with his army of bufty concors cleaning gear and see how she scrubs up.
Short term next up,
Just sent the cheque off for my 330mm A.P kit, and I have a set of gaz coilovers in wait for when the brakes arrive.
Long term next up,
I have sold my Als setup and will be getting rid of my 247 shafted t34/greys in favour of a Cr turbos RB T4/blacks/4wd inlet and a NMS live map.
Was really excited about that setup when I went for it but the Launch control, got boring, the antilag was at best an expensive flamer kit and my greys and 2wd inlet could only flow 28psi meaning the live map made the car no faster only better on fuel.
This was down to me not making the right choices with parts and some faulty ones causing problems, but hey ho you live and learn.

This weekend I Matt Blacked the following: Cam Cover, Header Tank, Strut Tops, Breather Tank, Swirl Pot & Ignition Amp Brackets
Engine bay now looks tops! We also got alot of the wiring sorted last night with thanks to Ryan for some advice over the phone, engine loom is now in, just got to sort the fuel pump loom out and swap the seats over as they are on the wrong subframes after someone did the re-trim! Then bar the above that Loader has already said it's a check of all nuts and bolts and it's finished and ready to run!
Lee, thanks for going with Nash and looking at Simon's car for me mate

*news flash*
she is alive, I managed to get the loom sorted yesterday, massive thanks to Ryan as he gave me a std saff plug a wrote me a wiring diagram for morons.
Spent this morning so far tryin start it with no joy, but I traced it to the fuel pump ingnition feed beeing yet again messed about with. so I came straight of off the ing barrel and she was on the button.
So its the rest of the day sorting the fuel pump loom and the rad loom, then I can swap my insurance over.

Lee, I rubbed it down by hand, then painted it in Matt Black, then very carefully cut the metal bits back by hand too!

Whatever it makes really, engine spec as in my above post but I'm gonna bung on a roller bearing T4, swedish inlet, 750cc or 1000cc seimens, air injectors and take it to NMS for a live map.May change cams if norris recomends.
See what it goes like I guess and if the 205 block pops I'll build up a 200 blocked bottom end. I have a monster ported head spare to use, as well but I m gonna try and keep that for the big power engine for when I get an escos.

Shit that was close , my mrs walked in just as I was reading that luke.
Just for carlo, sorry no boob pics as luke won that round.
Also swapped the seats round as when re-trimmed they were fitted to the wrong suframes.
Drivers and passenger seats now on the right sides, fitted the 4 points while i was there.
Should stop me sliding out of the leather when on track
