Fiesta RS turbo *update 24/10/08*
This is my new Project and indeed my 1st proper RS
I swapped my old corsa sri for it, which Im hoping I got the better end of the deal.
Anyway here she is in all her glory.
Looks to have had a bit of a hard life this past couple years.
Does have brand new front wings, suspension arms, track rod ends, drop link, shocks, springs and some new brake pipes fitted.
Currently not very well, idle is very iratic, turbo is smoking, had a massive oil leak and it keeps throwing the fan belt off.
It did however come with 2 folders full of history and every mot aswell, so its not all bad.
Underside and sills have had various patches stitched on here and there, but no serious rot.
The plan is to remove the engine and box and degrease the engine bay, clean and repaint if neccesary. Strip the engine and see how good bad its looking and replace whatever parts it needs.
Replace the T2 with a T3 turbo and -31 actuator.
Have the paint work sorted but this will be one of the last things on the "to do list"
Degrease and strip the underside and repaint in the same red paint as the outside for a cleaner look.
Sort the o/s/r wheel arch properly, if it needs replacing then so be it.
Need a new alarm installed as the scorpion alarm has gone wrong.
Fit and paint a set of fiesta mk3.5 door mirrors.
I have bought another crankshaft pulley as ive found the previous owner has fitted a Timing belt and looks like he has attacked the pulley with a sledge hammer or something to remove it.
replace those horrible yellow, gold dials and remove the "sparco" pedals

Cheers guys!
Danny: Escort currently looks like this
Its sitting in my garage waiting for me to pull my finger out.
Ive had trouble with the paintshop that painted the car. They gave me the car back so I paid them, but they hadnt finished the bumpers spoiler etc and even now nearly 18 months later im still waiting for the jacking point covers, spoiler and bumpers back off them.
I know next time not to pay up until its all the job is complete!
I just sort of lost a bit of interest in it with them taking the piss.
Dont worry, I will be finished..... 1 day

Well its turns out its not the turbo thats smoking, its got a broken ring or 2.
I think its been ran dry of oil and been rather hot because it has a death rattle when she fires from cold.
Only for about 5 secs at most but its there so im pulling the engine out this week in between work.
Also found a couple areas that need welding so im gonna pull the interior out and go through the whole car to make sure its sound enough.
Already located a genuine grey turbo dashboard to replace the one that someone has hacked up to wedge a boost boost gauge in
Will be posting pics up this coming week as I pull her to bits.
Thanks for looking guys
Mac.

Well I took the head off today as I thought I would give the car a run round the block before I took it apart.
Unfortunately when it came on boost it decided to blow the headgasket big style.
White smoke poured out the exhaust and when I looked it was actually pouring pure water/ antifreeze out the tail pipe!
The head was supposed to have just been done a few ago which turns out to have been done by an amatuer as I removed the head bolts with a short 3/8th ratchet!
Found most of the bolts to be either missing, snapped or very lose.
Ive bought a main dealer ford headgasket set for it. The head is getting skimmed,, new timing belt and also Ive got a T3 turbo to fit in place of the T2.
What do you make of the old headgasket, pretty hard to see properly in the pics I know.

Well ive got another update.
Thought I would start looking at why the sunroof was leaking and ended up with a car that now looks like this:
Passenger side floor holed:
Passenger side front floor holed:
Passenger side bulkhead holed:
Then I started on the engine bay:
Also removed the drivers side rear wheel arch kit to find out why it stuck out alot more than the other plastic arches did. Reckon I found the problem:

Well, i used to own this car and sold it about a year ago.
The chasis leg was gone as were the cills, wing and parts of the floor.
I had another one with a mint shell so sold the old. Was gutted as it was my first rs i owned from being 18. Had a huge ammount of history too and came from a chain of friends so i knew most of its history myself.
Have you sorted the alarm system yet?
What happened was, i sold the car and gave the lad the wrong alarm key fob as the one off my other car was identical and lost touch with the guy.
Get in touch if i can help mate. I'm usually on rsoc forum but i check in here now and again.
Chris.
