Thumbs up Project Track mx5 "rat" lol

My MRS wanted 1 of these back before the summer so after going to see a lot of dogs we found here a great red import mk1,se with lsd, bilstens etc etc
very nice 100 % original and genuine car.
after driving hers a fair bit over the summer and enjoying EVERY mile I bought 1 on sunday for some track fun next year, another red mk 1.

I have seen them have a really good write up on here of late, and since having our first 1 I can see why,the later engines with long nose crank which both ours have has beeen fault less ! serviced it when we got it,de cat ed it,induction kit, stainless exhausty, magnecor leads thats it for now.but its been faultless.they drive and handle so well std ! awesome
straight line fast they are not ! but they go well enough for what they are.

little update,a good friend of mine "breaks" mx5's all the time and of late I have been giving him a hand and last week 1 came in with these konis on,drove very nice on them, all adjust hard and soft ok,no oil leaks etc so their ready to go on the track car, this week another car came in with a alloy front strut brace,so i cleaned and painted up the shoulders so thats ready to go on. The track car came with its on cover which is handy as I have another car in the garage for now sat over my pit. O got some tyres ready too :-D

I know its not a ford but I think their ideal little track fun cars.

cheers mate,I am not going mad with mods to start, just get the new suspention on and check over all bush's and bearings etc. fit the bigger 1.8 brakes, lsd off an import.
tidy up the paint work as its well faded etc.
give it a good service and start enjoying it.

Nice 1 Matt, going to be nuts out on track. hope we all dont get three abreast going into a corner, dont worry about Paul in the noddy car as he would have spun off into the infield long before the corner

some nice other bits on it too, cusco coil overs,
jasma 4 branch manifold,de cat
magnicore leads,HKS induction kit ! loads of nice bits.

better pics of the cage which is now out of the smurf blue mx and placed in my red one,I had to cut the rear "shelf" either side of the petrol tank on the red one to get it in !

been pretty bust stripping the blue mx and getting the money of it so we can get it off my drive and get back on with the track rat.
