Ford Ka Track Car - 2.0 zetec **Update 22/03/10** Engine bought
Hey I have been a lurker here for a while but now it is time to break out and join all you forum posters. My name is Richard Stevens and I'm 17 years old my daily run around is a 898cc vauxhall corsa 5door haha.
I introduce to you my 1300 Track day Ka. It is technically my first car and my first outing with it was Ford Fair at 17:20 what an amazing session the car that we had spent nearly a year building. My latest outing was at Trax in the wonderfully wet condtions of silverstone. It was hard to enjoy it when the whole car was not suited to the conditions but building this is a big learning curve as both me and my dad have never really been overly mechnical. Well I will provide with the pictures upto the current time:
Standard trim last summer:
The exhaust fell off one day when mum was driving so after ordering a mongoose replacement it was fitted
comparing to a standard ka exhaust:
And then it had gaz coilovers all round which helped massively with conering and then a BMC CDA filter and that was the end of it on the road so it went into the garage:
New wheels in vauxhall fitment to widen up the track and due to wanting oz super t's
Magnecore leads:
Wheels fitted:
Sportka bumpers were bought to fit the wheels in better:
Sparco roll cage going to be welded in:
All fitted including seat/harness and arches sprayed:
Air intake + front arch fitted + randoms:
Fire extinguisher fitted:
Interior bits added:
All finished exterior pics leading upto fordfair:
Hispec R114 caliper with 280 2-piece disc and DS3000 pads:
After fordfair pictures:
Rev counter fitted:
Trax pictures:
Thanks for looking and I'll add as things are added as I have just struck a sponsership deal and plan to race in the DMN next year
Rich

Cheers
I loved driving the car at ford fair at it was only 10 days after passing my driving test! I loved every second of that the car was superb! it handled nice and never felt like it was out of control it stopped so quick! It was amazing! Driving it at Trax was the complete oposite we had new tyres big mistake and the brakes were too good for their own good and locked on the slightest touch but I am off to snetterton a week on thursday and am praying for the dry!!
Love the pics btw always nice to see someone else snap your car

It's not insured as I don't run the car on the road It is a trailor queen haha But the plan is too keep the engine as a 13000 so I can race it if it was just a track toy it would have something better in it
VC - My girlfriend took them under the press bib and I'll hunt through her photos tonight and see if i can find any if i do I'll PM you about it.

It is fun even if it is a 1300 tbh first car I didn't want a flame spitting monster sitting in the car as I would of had it sideways and being inexperienced could of probably lost it and maybe the car. I'm fine with what power the car has now
1 week and 2 days till the next track day Cheers for the comments guys

A lil update just before I go to snetterton Thursday
It's going to be on http://www.msvlive.tv throughout the day.
Well my small update is simply a sponsorship one that dynasty spa's are now a sponsor along with GAZ and powerflex and there may be more on the cards
anyway this post is useless without the pictures:
A few pictures of the inside showing the carbon fibre door cards and the inside sprayed up after the sound proofing had been removed:
oh and just one of the whole engine bay as i didn't post one up before:

Well Thursday 5am set off to have a beautiful day at Snetterton. Well organised track day and better than any normal day it was for charity and they d a max of 15 cars on track so loads of room where as if you do an msv day they can let out up 36!! The weather was stunning all day and done over 100miles of track time. No problems at all which is the best bit.
Anyway pictures..
at 7am
onto the track:
There is video of my first 3 runs which is me just getting to feel with the car and track and unfortunately no video of me when really pushing in the last session Posted up later. Enjoy.
